Rear view mirror problem w/ CL-S

Hi.

I had to replace the rear view mirror in my CL Type S as the auto-dimming function wasn't working. I got a new one and in the process of taking the old one out somehow or another the whole mirror (mount and all) came off the windshield.

If I go to the autoparts store and buy some of that rear view mirror adhesive, will it be strong enough to hold the mirror?

Yes it will be strong enough ...you are lucky you wernt one of the ones that had there rear view mirror explode. There were a few threads on this on the tl forum I dont recall why it happend but there were a few cases where the fluid in the mirror and glass blew apart.

The local autoparts store had two flavors of rear view mirror adhesive. I bought the more expensive one and I followed the directions to the letter and mounted the little metal base onto the windshield, let it set for a bit and then installed the mirror. I'm pleased to report that the new mirror works like a charm! Hopefully it'll stay put.
