Rear upper ball joints... tool??

My left upper ball joint boot is teared, cannot get hold of the honda tool to split the joint.... will this one work???. Will try protecting as much thread possiblewith a nut and washers, leaving about 1 mm or so of space on the tapered stud before applying the hydraulic tool.

Be VERY careful when separating the joint. It is easy to bend or damage the aluminum control arms.

Looks like it will work because of the ability to adjust the tool height. All you need to then be concerned about is the width of the tool throat. It must sit flat against the aluminum arm while reaching deep enough to cover the end of the mounting point. Had I not purchased the two Hond tools ($$$) I'd give it a try

Yes the forked part supports the bushing insert quite well.... will give a try during the weekend, the tool has 6 tons of pressure. Will give feedback about it..
