I am new to NSX prime, and have owned my 91 NSX for all of 7 days !! I just had my rear glass struts replaced at a cost of $371.10 CDN and they still will not hold the glass up ?? Silly question. They are intended to fully support the glass unaided right ? ( Not to rest on upright engine cover ) My local Acura dealer is reordering them for me anyway. Are these known to be problematic ? Thanks, Brady

Hi Brady,

Yes, these are known to fail; after about half a dozen years, they no longer hold up the glass (and it's worse when it's cold out than when it's warm). The same thing is true of the trunk lid struts. But you are correct, they should hold each piece up unaided. And new ones, in particular, should hold it up fine.

For the best deal around contact Frank Levine here. He has done many NSXers struts, includinng mine, for a reasonable price. Give him a try, you won't regret it.

I just got mine back from Frank and let me say this was one of the best dealings I have had with an NSX service. Frank is great.
