Hi,
I am in the middle of a timing belt replacement on my '96. While laying under the car I noticed that my rear engine mount looks worn. It appears that there is space around the yolk, for lack of a better term, and the rubber grommet around the connecting bolt. I looked high and low on the forum and the service manual for a picture to compare it too with no luck. Does anyone know of a picture or diagram I can look at?
Thanks in advance!

NickS,
When I did my timing belt, Apr-Jun 05, I found that I had a broken front lower engine mount and a broken upper transmission mount. You can see my pictures in the photo gallery. I inserted a tool to show the gaps in the mounts. I had to replace both of them. I got two good used ones from Joe Toth at EZR Car in NY (great guy).

Something else that I did was to clean them real well, 409 (or the like) and a tooth brush followed by hot soap and water. I had a tube of urethane that is used for the installing windshields and squeezed it into the gaps in the mounts. I think that this may extend the life of he mounts even though it may stiffen them a little. Completely fill the gaps from one side to illiminate any voids. Once you fill the gaps spit on the urethane and smooth it out with your finger. It also works best if warmed up. Sit it in the sun outside for a couple hours does he trick.

Drop me a PM if you have any questions.

I was checking out your site, very easy to use, on the mounts. There are four mounts, but the list has at least two different part numbers for each one, with considerable different prices for each. Can you explain that to me?

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the reply and the link. That's a great resource to have. I bookmarked and will contact you if I determine that it needs to be replaced.
Thanks again!
