Hello,

I have a problem. Recently, my drivers side rear fender is significantly lower than my passenger side. It is definitely uneven. The car is lowered with eibach springs and factory shocks. It seems as the rear drivers side is almost rubbing against the inside of the fender where the passengers side is normal. Also, when I drive I here a small creaking noise from the rear drivers side when I take off, but goes away when I am driving. Also, my rear drivers wheel seems to have a slight wobble to it, but the lug nuts are on tight. This all happened when the floor jack fell as the tire tech was putting on my tire on the rear PASSENGER side. Since then it seems all these problems occured Any input or suggestions on what to look for would be greatly appreciated.

regards,
Danny

Hi Danny,

It seems there are a few things to look at.

1. Eibach's have been known to sag over time, so you may have to pull the springs off and measure them. Also when you mention "significant difference" do you mean 1", more?? By your description of the fender liner it sounds like about 2" or more.

2. Your "wobble" may be a bent rim, so you should have it checked for true and also I think you should have your rear wheel bearing checked. This is relatively easy, just get the car up in the air and grab the wheel at 6 and 12 o'clock and shake it. There should be no play at all. If so, you will need to find out why.

I am not sure exactly how all this related to your incident with the jack, if at all.

3. The creaking upon initial take off sounds like the body is dipping when you take off which is somewhat normal, except since you talk about the droop of the body it is probably drooping too much. My guess is if you get the height problem fixed the creak may go away.

One other question: Is your drivers front fender higher?

Larry,

The front fenders are exactly the same height. Thanks for your input, I will look at all these things you mentioned.

Danny

I asked about the front only to see if maybe the front was, for some reason, stuck extended, and causing the rear to droop. Sounds like a spring has sagged.

Good Luck,

I think you guys are correct regarding the springs and the car sitting low on one side. I am going to get them checked. thanks for the help.

Danny
