Does anyone have the measurements of the rear bumper beam.
Either the measurements of the steel or aluminum version would be fine.

I would like to know the exact length, height and depth of the beam (the square measurements so to speak).

I've seen the CF-bumper beams, but they are a bit too expensive for me and am thinking about making my own replacement for the steel beam I have on my car right now.

Any progress on the beam? I would really like that procar one too but think you could make something similar a lot cheaper. Were you going to make it from scratch or buy a cf beam or tube made for something else and adapt it. I used to have a website bookmarked for a company that sold different cf round and rectangular tubes, angle, and flat pieces sold by the foot. If I remember they had something that looked real similar to the procar. It would have open ends though. I suppose you need about 4-5ft of it. I just wonder what specifications for wall thickness would give you the strenght that is equal to or better than the steel. I will see if I can find the site and post it if I do. Anyone know the wall thickness of the procar beam?

I found this other site, http://www.nauticexpo.com/prod/c-tech/carbon-fiber-tube-21624-111858.html and they can make it to your specs and help you figure out how stong it needs to be. Hopefully someone will post the measurements or I will try to get them from mine. I will not have the car for three weeks though so don't lose any sleep waiting for them. If I can get at least the length measurement I will ask for a quote on it to give some idea to the possibly savings.
