EDIT:

Apparently my employer's idea of a 'cost of living adjustment' and my own are not in line with each other. Thanks for all the help guys, I would not have had an accurate guage to consider the relo opportunity with out the good folks here on Prime. Looks like I should still plan on flying to Xpo '05.

What areas of LA should I be considering that are within a decent commute of La Mirada? TIA for any suggestions-
What do you consider decent? This may sound like a dumb question. However, many that live in LA have a different view of a commute than those that live elsewhere.

Whether you are buying or renting, if you want to live in a decent neighborhood with your requirements consider:

Cerritos - Nice neighborhood, fairly expensive, great leading edge city with good schools, great library. They were one of the cities that was going to pioneer wireless internet, not sure what the status is.

Fullerton - Fairly pricey, nice neighborhoods, considered Orange County.

Cypress isn't bad either.

I'd just stay away from anything in a large northern radius if you care about your car.

Thanks Malibu, that is just what I was looking for. Any idea what kind of drive time I am looking at for those areas?

Perfect, thanks a bunch. Consider yourself honorarily given more positive feedback points.

How about Brea 92821? Very nice neighborhood but quite expensive. It’s considering OC county but I'd say is more like between LA county and OC county

It also depands on the housing price you have in mind, I would also consider Yorba Linda and Anaheim Hills, they are a little pricey, but again, the housing pricing had gone up crazy in the last 2-3 years.

Good Luck and let me know if you need futher assistance.

James

Might be better if you can provide a budget that you have in mind so that it might be easier to narrow the possibilities.
