Hey guys...I know that "W" rated tires are rated up to 168 mph, and that "Z" rated tires are rated 186+ mph....My question is...Do you think there will be negative effects of me running W Rated Yokohama AVS 275/30/19 Sport Tires in the rear of my car, and 215/35/18 Nitto NT 555's in the front? I had 225/35/18 Yoko's in the front, but one got a bubble, and since I don't really prefer Yoko's OR 225 width for my front tires, I wanted to get the 215 Nitto NT 555's for the front, then get 265/30/19 Nitto NT 555's for the rear as well when the current 275/30/19 rear Yoko's go....Do you think this type of mixing and matching will have any adverse effects on the feel of my car and/or the performance? Is it alright to do?

Not quite...

Z=146+ MPH
W=168+ MPH
Y=186+ MPH

W Rated Yokohama AVS 275/30/19 Sport Tires

According to tirerack.com, a 275/30/19 Yoko AVS Sport is a Y rated tire...

To answer your question, the performance effect of running 215 Nitto 555's in the front and 275 Yoko AVS Sports in the rear will be that your car will have more understeer.

I dont think there will be a problem running the two different ratings, maybe the brand..
How often are we up that fast anyway, I know no one will hit 186 + on the Y rating.

We would all like to match up tires but I cant due to $$...I myself will be going with the AvsSport on the rears,and then either those on the front or the Parada Spec2 and save $30 a tire...still expensive though...

ONe more thing- I just checked prices at the tire rack and discount tire, and tire rack is WAY cheaper! in one size there was a $60 difference per tire...I saw other posts that said discount tire was cheaper....

It's always worth checking around.

Members of the NSX Club get wholesale pricing from Discount Tire on tires in stock, in which prices are less than those shown on Discount Tire's website. Those member prices are often, but not always, lower than the prices at the Tire Rack.

It's not a good idea to mix tires, with one brand/model on the front and a different brand or model on the rear. It can make the handling worse in unpredictable ways.

I cant see skimping on one of the most important pieces of equipment on the car .....its the only thing between you and the road ....ive tried harder compound tires to get more miles and i will never do that again.The tires that were made for this car will always be my choice.

As noted here, for example.

Hd, if you want Potenza so-3 they give good deals at the Firestone on Warm Springs and Eastern, they are very good. I have 275-30-19 on the rear and they get them in 2 days when ordered. Good luck! ps what side of town are you on? Im in Summerlin and would love to see your nsx sometime.
