OK I did my homework prior to posting this..

I have a problem with my NSX.. If I am driving in my NSX and slow down say less than 25mph the car makes a rattling noise from underneath the engine.. sounds like a heat shield / exahust rattling noise.. I had the car on a lift on saturday when I got the tire replaced on it.. and I didnt find anything loose anywhere..

also is creeks on the same side.. the passenger side, man this is fustrating when I am driving around.. people look at me weird because of the noise. that noise is made when I go over the speed bumps or anything that would make the car suspension move.. it is a metal to metal noise

Loose heat shields are a common problem among Hondas, although I don't recall hearing about them on an NSX.

I got a Comptech Exhaust on it.

How long ago did you get it? Is it possible it's one of their older models? I noticed the following comment in the "Performance" / "Exhaust" section of the you-know-what:

"[SA - 99/1/8] I bought an exhaust from CompTech in August of 1998. After six weeks of non-track driving (but spirited at times), it was exhibiting many signs of being blown. 1. It rattles at certain RPMs under load. 2. It rattles after high RPM acceleration. 3. It is louder.

I talked to CompTech and they acknowledge that I got one of the last "Walker Type" exhausts. They acknowedged that some people have experienced problems like the ones I was describing. They said that they had a "new type" of exhaust that was being developed to their specs and would be an improved exhaust. They agreed to cover my exhaust under the warranty program and replace it for free -- although I am paying reinstall costs. (Their warranty program does require that you ship the defective part to them and they determine if it has failed)."

Don't know if this is the sound you are experiencing, but it's one possibility.

Have you tried calling Comptech to ask them about it?

(just tryin' ta help...)

Thanks

comptech is up the road about 5 min from where I am at.. I will call them right now.. the only problem is that I am not the original owner and it is not under warranty.
