2013-01-01 13.20.59.jpg2013-01-02 12.48.29.jpgA rat built a nest in the engine compartment and chewed a hose. I hope to post a picture. Can i get a picture from one of you of a 91 to see what hose is
missing. This was just forward of the air box. I marked each end of the missing hose with green tape. Not sure what was in between.

Wow. Your attachments aren't showing up properly so I'm reposting them for you. How long had your car been sitting parked? Was it in your garage or outside? Please provide as much info as possible so we can learn how to keep this from happening to other NSXs!

those two green tapeed wires go together.

take the remained hose off or whats left of it and go to autoparts store and get enough to make a new one. easy fix.

rats are the reason my 2004 caught fire they made a nest in the intake box.

The car has not been on the road for few months but it is moved around. Its in a garage and kept covered. I was working on something else so i moved the car within the garage. I noticed some debis on the floor which is clean and after thinking about couldnt figure out why something was on the floor. I keep things neat. After thinking about it i opened the hood and the rat was still there. I didnt see where he went because i was trying to get a picture of him. Have traps set and trimed trees around building. As far as th hose i dont remember if there were any filters or check valves in line or is it just a hose?

Do you know if there is anything in between. I cant remember if it was a straight conection or was ther a check valve or anything else in the line.

With the cold weather here in Northern California it seems that mice and rats are going from garage to garage to find warm places. Last month I found out I wasn't riding alone anymore. It happened when I removed the center console, and there it was mouse poop. First I didn't know what it was. Really disgusting for sure. I bought mouse traps and that solved the problem. Hopefully, they didn't chew on any hoses. Fingers cross.

I have been using the pie tin full of mothballs under the car trick.Haven't seen a single critter since I've been doin it.

nope nothing in between the hose turned a little to meet the other side. thats it.

simple hose replacement.

but I would bet they chewed other stuff I would look on the passengerside were the harness comeout of the firewall behind the seat.
and under the fuel injector covers.

they pretty much only chew thoses places but if you start your car if the check engine light come one then you have your answer

it sucks and it happens to the best of us so dont feel bad. a mouse/rat/feild mouse can climb into NORAD and chew wires if they wanted no stopping them
