Range Rover owners' experience?

I am considering to buy a 4.0 SE range rover year: 1999 and 2000. I heard that there are many issues/problem on this truck.
Is keeping / maintenance car really cost a lot?
Is it really what I heard about the issues?

short version; no major problems. had to buy all knew rotors/brakes at the 60kmile service. set me back about 1700$total. Only problem there is that the damned parts took over a week to get in, but they did give me gratis a loaner for the whole time--new disco. I've heard that the dealer stopped giving free loaners. if id had to pay for the loaner that would have really set me off. my rover now has 76k, just replaced the original tires not because of tread but because of cracking. My rover is a 97. advice--glue the center caps in because they will fall out and are several bucks a pop. dealer advised this/took care of it.

i like the rover all in all--much better than my 00escalade.

Oil leakage is a problem? I thought that came standard!

Honestly, it's a British car. It leaks oil.

funny chopsjazz--and true. yes they always mark their spot--as long as not excessive peeing you know they are healthy. when they stop peeing it probably means a very expensive gallstone.

yup, thats my only maintenance--so far so good.
