What are your views on this guy? I personally think he's arrogant beyond belief. His latest actions and words pretty much sum up what kind of person he is.

Following the incident last Sunday (where he fake-mooned the crowd after scoring a touchdown) the NFL imposed a $10,000 fine. Yesterday, in response to the fine, Moss said (and I'm paraphrasing here...but it's fairly close):

Reporter: "You written a check for the fine yet?"
RM: "When your rich, you don't write checks"
Reporter: "So how do you pay these guys?"
RM: "Straight up cash, man"
Reporter: "Are you upset about the fine?"
RM: "Hell no. It's $10,000. What's $10,000...to me? It ain't sh*t. Hell, next time I'll whip my d*ck out"

Two thoughts come to mind:

1. Yes, he's arrogant. And egotistical, too.

2. In my opinion, the outrage expressed by the broadcasters at his "simulated mooning" of the crowd is absolutely ridiculous. Since when does a "simulated gesture" (sliding his hands along his legs) even justify any commentary at all? It's one of those instances where the broadcasters gave him the attention that he was seeking. They should have just ignored it.

(I am not saying that gestures are not worth penalizing; for example, if he had made a certain gesture with one of his fingers instead of both of his hands, that carries sufficient obscene content that it would justify penalizing. But not a simulated mooning; that's just a silly gesture, and not even worth responding too. Next thing you know, we'll get upset if a player sticks out his tongue. )

Absolutely in total agreement. Well said Ken, there you go reading my mind and taking credit for it again.
Shouldn't have even gotten coverage.

While I do agree that the broadcasters should have ignored it and turned the camera, the actual "simulated mooning" is TOTALLY uncalled for and he should most DEFINETLY be fined for such a disgusting act. To make a gesture like that, whether real or simulated, at the FANS...the ones that pay their salaries, is an embarassment to the players in the NFL with class (Favre and culpepper both come to mind right away) and shows that a piece of trailer park trash Moss really is.

If I was the guy interviewing him, after he made the "dick" comment, I would have made the comment "You'd be picking up my garbage if you couldn't catch that leather you uneducated, worthless piece of shit."

I'm simulating mooning Ken right now. Take that!

Seriously, I think the guy's afro was more offensive than the "simulated moon."

The fact is that RM is a PROFESSIONAL football player. He has to set a good example since he's being watched on tvs across the nation. It's obvious that the fines are not high enough to teach these pros a lesson. IMO, a game or two suspension (including playoffs) will have a greater effect.

Brian,
Keep in mind that Green Bay fans (some, not all) have a "tradition" of mooning the visitor's team bus after a game. And this is actual mooning, not simulated. This was Moss' response to Green Bay fans.

I think he's a total punk, and I bet he's an a-hole in personal life. But, he is an amazing player, and even though I don't like most of his antics, I thought this one was kind of funny (especially in the context of GB fans' behavior). Same way I think Terrell Owens is an arrogant punk, but his "hidden sharpie" stunt was humorous.

People need to lighten up.

I agree, if the NFL wants these fines to be any kind of deterrent, they would need to put some bite into their punishment. $10K for Moss is like $5 for me.

However, as I mentioned earlier, I think people are overreacting.

I think he is an embarassment to the NFL. He and Terrell Owens and these guys who do things everytime they get in the endzone... act like you've been there before..

I am VERY PROUD to say these guys are NOT on my team.

I fully agree with Rick.

They act like they were the sole reason for the score, and seem to forget the other 10 guys on the field, and the guys coaching on the sideline that ALLOWED them to score.

No, I'm jealous that he signed a contract that pays him $75,000,000 over eight years.
I guess when you're making that much money, you don't need to bother knowing when your team is running a field goal fake that you're supposed to catch...

You saw that too huh? Gotta stay in the game...mentally

He was called off the field, because someone else blew it (there were already 11 men on the field besides him) and for some reason the Refs could not see/hear Mike Tice trying to call a timeout, which was clearly shown in the replays. I can think poorly of many of his actions, but that one I do not think was his fault.

Well, Randy's performance was poor against the Eagles. They say it's his ankles but I think it's the media and the fine that he paid.

I saw the mooning clip and didn't find it THAT offensive. From what i read, the fans at lambo field always moon the opposing team bus when they leave the stadium, so Randy Moss did the mooning to counter that. I wouldn't say it was the best behavior but it wasn't as bad as people made it to be. Oh well.

$10K for someone making $75,000,000 over eight years is the same percentage of income as $80 for someone making $75,000 a year.
I admit, I didn't actually do the math.

But, in terms of disposable income, it's even less than $80 on a $75K a year salary. (Not $5, I agree :))

 to him...
