Went to Moroso on Friday night, it was great. I had some problems getting good traction to launch, and only managed 2.0 - 2.5 60ft times. My first two runs were a 12.79@108, then a 13.1@107. These are speeds I ran when I got the car. For the 12.79, I had a 2.0 60ft. It was after the second run I found out my nitrous bottle was empty! NO WONDER!

Got it refilled, and on my 3rd and final run I pulled a 12.2@118 with a 2.25 60ft. If I could have pulled off another 2.0 60ft, I would have run an 11.9!

I'm getting some slicks put on my stock wheels, because these 245's on the back are worthless for a straight line. That should be able to get my 60ft's down to 1.7 or so, and no spinning thru 1st, so I should be able to pull off a 11.5 or maybe even lower. With the MPH of 118, I should be able to get around a 11.2, I believe.

Then I got to run a Supra from 50 - 155 on a completely desolate turnpike. He was running 25psi, and I still managed to pull ahead of him by 8-10 carlengths. Can't wait to get the video ripped and online from Moroso and the rest of the night!

edit: more video!

http://www.SouthFloridaRacing.com/videos/nsx1279inside.wmv is that first run, but the inside view. NO WONDER the mustang took off like that....he redlighted!

http://www.SouthFloridaRacing.com/videos/nsx1228.wmv is the 12.28 run. It was dark by then so it' kinda hard to see it. I still took off terribly...2.5 60ft time. :'(

Here's a copy of my 12.79 that someone else already ripped. I haven't gotten my own video pulled yet. The announcer says "Here's the Acura NSX looking like a Lamborghini" LOL

Notice my 1 second reaction time...lol The stang flies away, only to get reeled in and passed by the 330ft line. :D I bet he wasn't too happy.

I LOVE IT! i guess that big hood scoop on the stang wasn't enough to keep up.

Good run. I had a 92 that had IHE and an RM 75 shot dry kit yhat put me @11.98 at 117.
The 118 MPH time will work out to about 11.7-11.8 on an NSX.

I ran the 1/4 last week in my 2002 NSX with 100hp NX wet kit and got a 11.6 @ 119.8 with a 1.87 60 Ft. I also broke 120 MPH on an 11.7 run. I did this with real street tires, 285 30 18 Potenza SO3's. With slicks I figure I would shave .2-.3 off the 1/4.

What Nitrous kit are you using? Please give year and mods of your car.

Have you run your car with no nitrous?

WIZ, I bet you are loving the spray big time now! that is a very good third run, now get your reaction time down to .5 and you will have it,Remember to launch on the last yellow! and the 2.0 trap is nothing to sneeze at. very tight for a 75 shot. AJKS wiz is running a zex wet kit at 75.

John, that is an AWESOME run 11.6, I am very curious to know what your car will do with drag radials or better yet slicks. bet that powergrip clutch doesnt hurt either. keep us updated on your runs-tuning of your incredible nitrous NSX
Best Regards David

P.S. I knew your car would run mid 11's on street tires, TOLD YA SO:D

His delayed reaction time off the line has no effect on his ET and trap speed. He could be sitting at the starting line all day and still do a 12.7 ET.

Come on...I know it does not effect ET and never stated it did,BUT it surely effects the winner of a drag race. He did have a very slow reaction time(a full second) thats why I mentioned it.give me a little credit here Nimbus.I was born at night but not last night. It was solid advice for running at the strip 'overall'.

I have a 92 with 98k miles on it. I,H,E, test pipes. Nitrous is sprayed directly into the end of the air filter, Zex 75 dry kit. I am not spraying in 1st. I'm launching around 5k rpms, and being very easy on it, because I have some TINY 245/45/17's on the back. I'm going to put something nice and wide back there so I can get a good launch.

Weight savings: small battery, kevlar seats, no spare tire or bracket, CF anywhere else I could put it, no toolkit, no carpet/padding in the trunk, no engine cover, CF hood (which I think is heavier...lol), took all the random stuff outta the car, 1/2 tank of 93 octane.

And thanks! I do need to work on my launch a lot, but I can't believe how I reeled in every car. Felt amazing. The car runs around a 13.0 @ 108 without nitrous, so the 12.79 run I was just about out. Likely the bottle pressure was REALLY low.

Video should work again, was doing some server changes last night. :)

edit: forgot to mention, it's actually running pretty bad right now. Bent exhaust valve thats clicking, loss of some compression in two cylinders, original timing belt, clutch will not hold in 4th gear with the nitrous on. (clutch is a stock one with only 4k on it!) Yes I know I know...but I'm hoping to hurry and blow up this engine so I can put the new built one in. :D I'm hoping once everything is new I'll run a 11.5 or so.

ComputerWiz,

Great videos! When I started the video I thought that Mustang was going to blow you away. I loved watching you reel him in after he got the jump on you.

Thanks for the videos.

By the way, why is your car running poorly? Did the nitrous stress the engine too much or is there previous issues with the car?

Thanks.

All previous issues. When done correctly, nitrous doesn't hurt your engine. The car just has a lot of maintenance that needs to be done, but I'm going to route of a whole different engine, so maintenance on this one is of no concern to me anymore. :)

very nice!!
I like!
