I remember this post from a while back.

Someone posted the part number for a replacement volume pot but I can't find it despite several searches.

I'm getting tired of the scratchiness in the volume knob and I've cleaned it 3 times already but it never seems to last that long...

Any help?

TIA

Sorry that I can't help you with the part number, but I have a Q for you.How did you clean that? I have some scratchiness in my volume control also.

Get some tuner cleaner/contact cleaner at Radio Shack. Like this

Take the radio out of the dash and remove the covers to gain access to the volume pot.

Find a small opening in the case of the pot and shoot some cleaner into it while rotating the shaft.

Be careful the excess cleaner doesn't collect inside the radio behind the clear display window as it might fog/discolor the plastic.

You should only have to open the top and bottom covers I think. I can't be more specific since its been a few years since I last did this.

Expect it to last a year at the most since the pot doesn't have a lot of openings to get a lot of cleaner in there.

While you're in there you might as well clean all of the other pots for the bass, treble and balance.

Again, set the radio at such an angle so that the excess cleaner doesn't collect behind the front display window or it could get fogged. Ask me how I know this

The knob for the volume is:

Large volume knob-39113-SL0-003

Are these the Acura part numbers for the plastic knobs?

That is my impression if so, thanks but I need the vendor and the part number to the actual potetiometer that is inside of the radio.

Probably Bournes but ICBW...
