radio or climate control knob removal-how to?

I am going to attempt to install the original radio knobs on a new (aftermarket) head unit in an attempt to retain a somewhat cohesive look. I've pulled on them rather firmly but they don't seem like they are going to come off. Has anyone taken them off, or know how to do so (without breaking them)? Anyone have a nonworking radio or climate control I could buy cheap to experiment on?

When I removed my it was very tight, I think as long as you pull directly out they should come out without any damage...

Since you'll have to grip the knob on both sides, what you don't want to do is put more force on one side compared to the other - that will almost certainly break the knob.

I don't really have any advice other than that.

Good luck.

The radio knobs are friction fit. Pull them straight off. I found a small flat-bladed screwdriver used as a small pry bar helps get it started. Once it's started it is pretty easy. I would expect the climate control to be the same but I have never take one apart.

Does that mean you have a working radio? I have both a non working ac head and a non working radio. I need to replace both.

If yours is working, what do you want for it? email me at [email protected]
