ok so i am riding around yesterday enjoying my new purchase and what do you know but my radio's display quits working. the radio still works fine but now i cannot see what station is on  anyway, about at the same time, maybe a little later-i notice that my car's temperature gauge is reading cold (on dash) when i am at speed (greater than 50mph). but when i am tooling around town, it is showing normal temperature ranges. also i notice that when i am on the interstate and the gauge shows cold-my heater is no longer working properly. i have called acura to put it in the shop tomorrow, but i was wondering if anyone has ideas about what is going on-so that i do not get ripped off from the acura dealership. all suggestions are greatly appreciated. thanks

Hello, sounds to me like two separate issues. The temp problems most likely is a thermostat stuck in the "open" position. Same thing happened to me, thermostat only costs about $25 and you can do a complete coolant flush at the same time.

Not sure about the radio problem, maybe just a bulb?

good luck

I agree. The radio LED display has failed for some reason.

Same thing happened to mine. I had the radio removed and repaired... Cost AUD $200 at authorised Honda Service Centre. (They did not do the repair BTW, they just removed the stereo and sent it away) This is an isolated problem (meaning it is not a common failure in the NSX) and it is caused by the age of the diodes. Parts are no longer made. The repairer salvaged the parts from a radio of similar age. I'm am not sure if it was another NSX stereo or not.

From what I see/read, if you are in the states, then it will be cheaper for you to buy another radio from someone on Prime. They usually sell for USD$100. Otherwise you can just live with it as the stereo works just fine but the display is not "backlit" anymore...
