Last Thursday I was able to entertain a business associate by going to Spring Mountain race track in Pahrump, NV for a Radical two day school. Who says work can’t be fun! The first day included threshold braking exercises, toe-heel exercises on the track, skid-pad work on oversteer and understeer, and three shadow lapping sessions where the students follow the instructors. Day two started with the students riding with an instructor in order to get a better idea of shift points, and what an ideal lap looked and felt like. After that it was all solo track time with no shadow car. Sessions lasted about 30 minutes, followed by a 30 minutes classroom session. This school provided plenty of track time, and was an absolute blast. If you want experience something different than your NSX on a track, I highly recommend this.
The Radical SR3’s feel like they are on rails. Braking and cornering are very impressive. The acceleration was okay, but didn’t really impress me. I think I expected a bit more in that category. It’s about on par with a Z06 in acceleration. The seats are adjustable, and will accommodate pretty tall drivers.
Completion of the two-day school allows you to return for their arrive and drive sessions, which I will certainly do. You can even split the fee of an arrive and drive with another driver, making it pretty darn affordable at $600 each. Considering everything is taken care of, not a bad deal IMO.

Guy on the left spun 6 times. Twice off the track. One of those times it cost him $500 for a new starter.
Mr. Spin.
My biz assoc and friend, JT.
C5 owner. All we heard for two days was how great Vettes were. He actually told us he thought Z06's were faster around the track, right up to the point where we started to get our laps timed.
Turn 7, entry to the back straight.
Post apex turn 2.
