I use Sparco top driver in black since many years. About 135 Euros.
BTW: My post number 500 - celebrated it by raising my member status (which is not easy when you're in Germany and don't have a credit card - thanks to my U.S. business partner for the help).

I purchased a pair of wrestling shoes. The have the same style of construction as driving shoes without the Nomex and are a lot less expensive.
I should have added that the shoes above are FIA approved. They should withstand fire better than wrestling shoes - at least I hope they do...

While I have a lot of respect for the abilities of Nomex, should I get flames in a mid-engined car like the NSX, I figure my booties would be the least of my worries
Now, for "sanctioned" wheel-to-wheel racing events, that's another story...
Have been using a relatively-cheap (about $40) pair of ASICS 'rasslin' shoes for track days -- HPDE and lapping days. Work about as well from a "feel and control" standpoint...MarkB said:

I use some low top Simpsons. I wanted to stay cheap and just get some wrestling shoes since Im not racing or anything, but the Simpsons were only $70.

The most important are the shoes and gloves. These are what you use most if the car got on fire.
I had 3 different shoes, and I like Sparco the best. Mine only lasted about 2 years though. I do use them a lot, in the rain and run around the paddock.
There is a reason sparco products are worn by most race car drivers in the world.
