Im putting in nsx type zero seats from japan, the are carbon fiber and mount to the stock mounts and have their own motor for going back and forth. They are gonna put me back 7 grand but i hear they are 15 grand, ouch! I will have them in my car for nsxpo. Alex at Acr motorsports got them for me on his last trip to japan.

If you are looking for a race bucket seat, I believe the Recaro SPG is the best for your body frame. However, for that price range, you may wish to consider the Sparco REV.

We offer both seats.

Cross post from another forum. You can come sit in the SPGs at NSXPO.

"I have sat in both, but have only used the SPG on the track. I am 6'0" and 160lbs. The Mugen seat's rear contour is designed for a shorter person and I found it uncomfortable. The seat width is also very confining. The SPG on the other hand feels like a glove when I sit in it. Not only is it very supportive, it is also extremely comfortable for long trips. This summer, I have logged about 3500+ long distance miles in SPGs traveling between events on the west coast and around Road America and not once felt uncomfortable or felt the need to get out and stretch. This is with a significantly stiffer suspension than stock.

If you have the chance to sit in SPG and other seats back to back, you'll be surprised how much more "advanced" the ergonomics and support the SPG is. I believe firmly that the comfort of a seat is not how much padding you have, but how well the seat supports your body.

They are unfortunately more expensive than seats from Sparco, however, after trying Sparco seats in the S2000, I decided it was worth the extra money to have a seat that I felt so comfortable in. There's a reason that the SPG line is one of the most popular in closed wheel pro motorsports."

Get the Recaro SPG. It is the perfect seat for your frame and the build quality is better than the Sparco, it looks better and the overall fit in the car is better because the seat is not as tall as the Sparco. I would also expect resale to be better.

Does anyone have pictures of Racing Seats in their NSX? Also I think Acura did a good job with the stock Seats. They are probably the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in. Are you guys mostly just changing to race seats to save weight?

Hey Jason, wasn't this supposed to be our little secret until the NSXPO?

On a side note, I personally think that the Type S-Zero seats are what should of been made available on the Zanardi edition. It is in my opinion the most comfortable seat available to handle track duty. The Type S-Zero seats are made by Recaro using Carbon/Aramid and covered in leather with suede center. The seats are only 2.876 kgs, which is about 6.3 lbs, which is by far lighter than most other seats. It comes with specially designed oem power seat rails for a perfect fit. The seats also look incredible in person. The "big" fault with these seats however is that Honda wants roughly $14000 plus tax for a new pair of the Type S-zero seats with the special oem fitting power rails and power seat controls.

While the factory seats are comfortable, it is not very suitable for track duty. Try driving Willow Springs Big Track all out with the factory reclinable seats and you'll be stuck against the door and thrown around a bit. Full Bucket racing seats at Willow Springs Big Track will help shave off at least 2 seconds of your lap time versus the factory seats. This is due to the fact that you are held firmly in place and also able to feel more connected to what the car is doing. In a way, it is a non-compliance modification for your butt/body.
