I have been watching and posting on the "post pictures of your racing seats" thread in the Picture Gallery, and I think the thread has come to a dead end with one of my questions. So, I'll move my query to the General section to see if I can get some help.

I am looking for a second set of seats for my NSX. I'd like to use them as my normal seats while I have the stock seats re-done, and I'd also like to have them to use when I occasionally track the car. I am primarily looking for a seat that mounts with the side-mount Taitec rails because I am almst 6' tall and I'll need the helmet clearance when I visit the track. I was initally looking at the Sparco Roadsters because they looked like they would fit my 205-lb, 34-36 inch inseam body. According to a much smaller owner of these seats, it appears that these seats will be a bit too small for me in the rump area.

So, does anybody have any conflicting information/opinions on the fit of the Sparco Roadster seats, or does anyone have any other seat options that might work for me? Remember, I am not looking for bottom-mount seats like the Torino or Milano because of my height, and would like to use the Taitec mounts that SOS offers.

Please help! :)

Lose some weight!! :D j/k Actually, it's pretty ironic that you posted this. After I saw the Sparco Roadsters in the artificial leather, I decided that I want these seats! But, I'm exactly the same size as you and if Porknbeanz says he has a tight fit being 6ft 165lbs, I have a bad feeling my fat a$$ wont fit. :( I would also like some feed back on this matter from owners more our size. ;)

Viper Driver,

The Sparco Roadster's are great seats! The only problem you are going to run into is, they are really made for a small to Med. driver.

My friend, who is 6' / 225lbs wanted to purchase a pair of Sparco Roadster's, when they first came out. When he finally was able to test out my seats, he had a really hard time getting into them. When he finally was able to fit himself into the seat, he could not get out without my help.

I am 5'8", 165lbs. and it is a snug fit for me.

Check out the Corbeau Forza seats. They are racing buckets and can be special ordered in leather directly from Corbeau. They are meant for larger people.

This must be my 15-minutes of fame. Total strangers discussing the size of my butt on the internet. I will savor this for the rest of my days.

The EVO 2 will not fit in the NSX.

Upon further detailed discussion with Chris at SOS, I've went ahead and ordered a set of Sparco Roadsters. I'll post my findings here when I get them, but my feeling is that these Roadsters would feel tight no matter what your butt size is. Checking the dimensions on the Sparco web site, they are plenty wide; it's the slant of the side bolsters that would seem to "wedge" anybody in when they sit in them, just a bit more than my stock seats do already.

What is it that makes the Evo2 not fit? (I'm particularly interested, since seats will be one of my next mods, and I'm not a small person).

Shoulder wings

From what I understand, the shoulder support "wings" are too wide for the door to close with the window up and if shifted to the center tunnel, then the other side runs into the rear speaker inclosure.

There is an easy fix for this, but most are scared to try it. All of these race seats have removable covers. Take the cover off, use a dremel tool and reshape the wings, then put the cover back on. The cover may look a little wrinkled at the edges of the wings, but you can make it "just right".
