quietest after market exhaust

Just wondering if one wants just a bit louder exhaust (like a G35 coupe) than the stock, but don't want any additional noise in the cabin while cruising. Which after market exhaust is the quietest in the cabin?

I know this might be a strange question since most threads seem to ask for the loudest, but loud interior noise get very tiring....

Thanks.

I'e heard comptech is very quiet. In fact, I've heard people selling it and trading for another because they wanted a louder sound. but I've not heard it myself  .

My old DC exhaust was also close to stock.I'm not sure if they still make them though.

I have a DC exhaust, and it is slightly louder than stock upto 6000 RPM. After that point, it gives a nice deep howl.

go to science of speed site, lots of sound bytes to make your own decision. Exhaust note is very subjective.

Personally I picked the Taitec GT Lightweight  and I 'am happy and at around 3000 rpm its pretty quiet................at WOT thats another thing

I have a HKS. It's not as loud as the Taitec, but louder than the DC, Comptech. Not much noise in the cabin. It's a bit on the quiet side for my taste, but this is as loud as it can get. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy the heck of the exhaust for its sound. Don't want to be the one everyone hates in my neighborhood.

not to be biased because I have one, but the anytime is the most stock like sounding from the cabin. It sounds great with the windows down, but you don't hear much with the windows up. I don't like loud exhausts and I wouldn't mind if the Anytime was a bit louder.

The comptech is not quiet. I have driven one with their exhaust and thought it was obnoxious for my tastes.

Anytime should fits your need, plus there's a special deal going on (if there's any left)

Other than comptech, I think the old RSR is also pretty quiet. Problem is getting one.
I was just about to suggest RS-R as well -- quieter than CT but a nice low growl when you get on it. I believe they started up distributing these in the US again, after the old distributor (Racing Beat) discontinued them.

This was my first aftermarket NSX exhaust. A great looking system, possibly one of the best-built ones I've seen in awhile (looks "factory"). Main downside is weight -- it weighs almost as much as the factory cat-back unit (they DO have a lighter Titanium unit, but that's JDM only AFAIK). Also, I'm not sure they make any fitments for newer cars (only 91-94 available IIRC)... perhaps the extra plumbing can be sourced elsewhere.

It actually weighs about 5 lbs MORE than the OEM  I sold both my OEM and an RSR at the same time, and weighed them @ Fed Ex Ground, and the RSR was around 65lbs with the box, and the OEM was about 60 with the box. But Manuel is right, the RS-R is a beautiful exhaust, and is as quiet as OEM inside the cabin, and a unique sound at WOT.

thank you all for your responses. What kind of RWHP does the RSR put out? Dali lists it for $1500

Maybe I will look for a used RSR or Anytime. Does either one have any durability issues?

I would e-mail Mark and I am sure that he is listing the retail price of the RS-R and can sell it for much less.

Anytime has a lifetime warranty. You can't beat that.

Comptech is the queitest I have heard. I was really not too impressed with it honestly. I think my Anytime is much better. But, if you want a little extra airflow and don't want to attact a lot of extra attention, the comptech is a good choice.

PS. I love the G35 coupe and 350 exhausts stock. They sound incredible!

If Comptech is quiet, then the one that I drove must have been jacked up becuase it sounded like a lawnmower inside a tin can. Then again, the car I test drove had a lot of other things wrong with it so I am not surprised.

That sound usualy means it has a blown baffle.I experienced that with my DC

The Anytime is quiet inside the cabin with no resonation. It seams very loud though when I have watched it drive away. I have no cats though. So it is probably quite a bit louder.

How are the Comptech & Anytime comparing to the G35 coupe in term of inside and outside sound level?

Is the Anytime quieter than the Comptech inside? I've heard of the Comptech drive by and it is quite loud outside.

Loudness changes dramatically with and without catalytic converters in place. So be careful when comparing loudness levels - some people drive with no cats.

I have the Tubi w/cats in place and it is slightly louder than stock but not too bad. Tubi w/o cats is too loud (in my opinion) for daily use but sounds great on the track.

I have an Anytime and I think it is very loud. I used to have a Comptech and it is much quieter than the Anytime, almost too quiet  .
