Quick Question: Springs

When I replace the springs, do I need to take out the lower damper mounting nuts? I.e. Do I need to take the whole shocks out?

Can I take out the old springs and install new springs simply by unbolting the upper nuts, compressing the springs, and tilting the dampers outwards to remove them?

Any comments would be appreciated.

You will have to remove the entire assembly from the car to change the springs out.
