Is it just as difficult to remove aftermarket headers as it was to remove the OEM 91 cast iron manifolds? Does it slide right out or do I still have to set the pump aside and I believe undo a Trans mount and such?

I took a quick look tonight and pondering doing the job myself. Though, I didn't do the original header swap because I was most afraid of snapping old head bolts at the time and Jon M. had the entire engine out for other service already.

Thanks for the link Adrian. I remember ANYTIME mentioned he didn't have to go through half of the steps posted in the wiki, though he had the use of a lift at the time. Just hoping for some opinions if anyone's got any.

It seems it would be easier to sneak/wiggle through the bare long tube headers vs. having to deal with the stock cast iron "block" manifold and all the OEM heat shields.

I would agree with Hapa. ANYTIME was definately an exception. I don't see how you could do the install/removal without moving some stuff around under there.

Removing headers should be slightly easier than removing the 91 manifolds since you won't have to deal with the heat shields, but otherwise, it's the same job. You still have to reach the same bolts to remove the headers as you do to remove the original manifolds, which means the braces, front beam etc. have to come off. Maybe you could get away with not removing the A/C compressor however I would prefer to remove those 4 bolts and get it out of the way rather than working blind around it.
