Experimenting with some new flashes (I'm a noob). Anyways, here ya go.... I realize I have too much reflection on the manifold plate.

Great picture Synth19. I'm still learning how to use my Canon 50d and would love to take shots like this one at some point in the future.

your exposure looks about right. Tip: try shooting from the opposite side so the lighting doesn't reflect off the manifold plate.

Here's mine to give you an idea...

I love them all, and yeah, I experimented myself with such different angles, and for me the ideal is like the others above:

But, synth19's picture is more dramatic. since that angle is tricky and shows the Brace + the engine cover arm + lighting .... that gives more of a mechanical robotic feeling than just the safe plain cover shot ....

Oscar, what's your lighting setup?

Just GARAGE LIGHTING lol what i think it did was the hatch (tinted) that was open blocking the direct light so it gave a nice subtle illumination ... also I took like 4 of the same exact angle, and some didn't come as good ... I then on top added a black layer on photoshop and with a subtle elliptical hole with 125 px feather, then 90% opacity so is not black flat ..
... sorry I write as i talk to much lol

haha.. good use of natural lighting. Exposure is on point.

It's there.... at least in my cache. :) When I first came to this thread, didn't see it... when I came back, it reappeared. Perhaps your host is bugging out.

Yeah, it came back, i thought it was weird because when that happens normally the [X] shows up .. instead total disappearance ... but definitely a bug, after 6speed.... I got traumatized having pics banned hahhaa

Here is another test shot that came out a bit better then the previous. Used Canon EF: 24-70mm f/2.8 L, two Vivitar 285 HV, Blazzeo RF Speedlites Trigger and Receivers.

For the hell of it, I took a wheel shot. Used Canon EF: 24-70mm f/2.8 L, and one Vivitar Flash (off camera). The picture is comprised of two layers due to the body of the car looking too blown out.
