Hey Everyone,

I have a quick headlight question. I just picked up a 98 NSX and noticed while following someone at night that my headlights bounce slightly. I would say very slightly, but I was just wondering if that is normal. I just hate when people drive behind me with wobbly lights, It's really distracting and I didn't want to be one of these culprits. I didn't know if this is just something I have to deal with when having flip up lights.

I've noticed the same thing. Just very slightly.
Most of the time I notice it when I take off with a little stutter in the clutch release. However I have seen slight bouncing on the bumper of the car in front of me if I am tailing closely (and the road has some bumps)

I just figured it was due to the tight suspension on these cars.

98-T as well

My first NSX suffered from this in the left-side light. My current one doesn't have the problem. I suspect that the mounts can develop some play over time, and this is the result. It IS disconcerting.

My 98T also does it. Never noticed on my older one...

futher investigation

Well, since some people have the bounce and some people don't I think I am going to try to look into it further. I will try to find a parts diagram of the light assembly and see if there are any mounts or bushings that maybe could wear or loosen. I will post my findings.

Hey there theres a little adjustment you can make to the stoppers that hold the headlight bucket when it's up It's a real small aluminum bolt with a little rubber nipple on it right behind the headlight.loosen the locknut ,8mm I think and pop the rummer nipple off and screw out the nut a few turns.should work fine .Be sure to tighten the lock nut and put back the rubber nipple .You'll notice it straight away.DaveH

Thanks for the fix!!

Dave,

Thank you very much for the fix, I will try it tonight. Judging by how many people responded, I bet a few people will try it as well. Thanks again.
