questions about installing aftermarket side skirts

Earlier today a fellow Prime member (Jimbonuttz) and I were trying to install a set of Stacy's Signature Series Side Skirts. From what we found, it seems that the installation of these skirts required some extra hardware.

What did those of you who've installed these do to attach the skirts to the car? The factory clips can't be used in any way that we could figure out. The only way we could figure was to buy the clips from SOS that they make for aftermarket skirt installs.

It looks like you have the first generation stacy side skirts and those factory clips you have will not work with them. I do have a set of the original Stacy skirt metal brackets to use with that skirt that you have.

At this point it depends how fast you are willing to wait to get this done, I have a lot of stuff at my shop and I have been searching for old parts that I had for my customers and it's taken so long because there are so much boxes to sort through. If I find it, I can send to you for free, however I believe that the installation SOS hardware kit is the cleanest way to install the skirt that you have.

I been looking for over 4 months straight for an old gt spoiler bracket which I had 2 sets and gave up on that. Just letting you know that I do have the brackets available for free if I find them. Once I find it I can PM you and perhaps have someone from the NSX community or a family/relative pick it up for you from here. We are in the city of Orange, in Orange County.

ahhh we were just in OC last weekend....I believe James (02#154) will be back in LA/OC area this next coming weekend perhaps if you find it by then he can pick it up personally.

I was the other member who was trying to install it for James and I recall everyone saying reuse the factory clips but I found no way of doing so, hence the thread.

I'm glad to hear that we we're right. *phew*

So with the newer model stacys signature skirts does it have the clip holders? or what's the difference in the older model skirts and the newer ones that reuses the factory clip? I'm about to place an order for these skirts and just wanted to make sure. Thanks!

As Jimmy noted, I'll be in SoCal area next weekend (Rowland Hts.). No big push for them from you, but if you happen to find them then yeah, I'd really appreciate it. If not, then no sweat... I'll just order the ones from SOS.
