Question on "spongy tire effect"

I checked FAQ's but still have this question. When I shift lanes while highway driving at as little as 75 mph, my car tends to "sway" and almost want to continue going in that direction. It gets progressively worse at higher speeds. This is straight line driving. I'm sure it's something someone on this board can explain. My car is lowered w/H&R springs as well as Dali Racing Street sway bars but most importantly, ProDrive wheels w/Bridgestone SO3 Pole Positions 215/40/17's front and 285/30/18's in back. Tire pressure is 33psi front and 40 psi back. I've tried different pressures w/ no real diff. Is this form vs function, does this just go with having fat tires?

Any advice appreciated.

TIA

Did the problem exist before you changed out the springs? If not, I suspect it is an alignment problem.

It has been aligned. Bear in mind that if driving in a straight line, it does not veer left or right if I take my hands off the wheel. It's only when changing lanes at higher speeds which is why I would think it had to do with tires. Does the fact that the tires are so wide (285/30/18's) matter?

Anyone else?

Try putting your stock wheels and tires back on, and see if it behaves the same way.

If you don't still have them, borrow a set from someone else.

That will narrow down the possible causes (no pun intended).
