Can this be done on the car? I'm exploring options for removing the rear bushings without having to remove the entire beam.

Why can't tools like these be used? Unfortunately, I won't get my car back for a while so i'm hoping for feedback from folks who have done this already. I've used these on other cars before and never had a problem. A bit of a PITA but still doable.

Thanks much for your input!

Here's a pic of the beam itself.

Seems like access is pretty decent?

You mean install? Why are you saying remove when the pics show an install? Am I not getting something? If you mean remove the OEM bushings then why are you calling them non-compliance? They have compliance.

And what's that sway bar... LOL

Your thread says "removing non-compliance bushings". That implies you want to remove non-compliant aftermarket bushings. OEM bushings are NOT "non-compliance". They are simply bushings. And they have a certain amount of compliance. That's why your thread is confusing. As I understand now, you want to remove the OEM bushings and install the non-compliant ones. Right? Well my installer said he can do that on the car.

Damn you and your attention to detail! Yes you're correct in pointing out my error :) lol

Still stressing about Saturday?

Yes, this can be done. Autowave did mine w/o removing the beam.

Removing them is easy, place 2 hooks on them and dump the clutch going forward. that will remove them, to install them, put the car in reverse and do the same thing.

That should do it :-)

Can anyone elaborate on the tool or process of doing this on the car? I did something similar on my diff bushings on my 335i, so figure it should work the same.
