Hey guys

Just got my X a couple of weeks ago, and this last saturday night put it in a ditch. Just wondering if you guys had any good recomendations for a body shop to do the work?

There is front end damage driver side door and driver side front fender.

My insurance is picking this up so not to worried about the cost as of now I'm thinkin of taking it to cerritos acura because they have a collision department there.

it was on a freeway onramp.... there was some water right before i got on.. i guess i gassed it to much and the back end came out, car jumped the curb and went down into the gravel ditch on the side of onramp.

San Pedro Auto Body is the place on the west coast.

I've seen their work on the NSX: it is excellent.

Also very important: He will spend the time to constantly re-total the damage as it becomes apparent and bill the insurance company. Most places decide it is not worth it to constantly hassle the insurance company...San Pedro wants the car fixed correctly above all.

20/20 auto repair in Hacienda Height (or Roland Height area). They worked on my previous NSX and did a perfrect job. They work on mostly highline cars.

Is it not a good idea to take it to a dealer?

Generally, dealers are great for warranty and Remove/Replace service. I would also recommend them for big jobs (clutch, timing belt, transmission rebuilding, etc...) on which they will guarantee the job and quickly pay for any damage required to repair a botched job.

However, the dealers tend to lose their edge when a car requires highly personalized service....like extended diagnosis and body work.

They may not deal with used parts. In your case the insurance may state to "repair" the door. But you don't want any filler on your car, so you opt to find an excellent used door and have it installed. The dealer may give you issues on such things.

San Pedro knows the NSX very well, probably better than any dealer in most cases. They are good!

Vance,

do you have a phone number or addres for the 20/20 shop?

I've talked to a few people who track their cars and they claim the car will come around fairly easily in certain circumstances.

san pedro auto body, ask for fabian. they are nsx experts and know how to fix an nsx to the original condition

So, just wondering...would you select Autowave over a dealer for Timing belts, clutch, etc, or would you still stick with a dealer for the "big jobs" as you mentioned?

Would this San Pedro place be a good recommendation for a Lexus?

I have a friend who has an IS350 who lives in Santa Monica and is looking for a body shop in the area.

Thanks in advance
