Purevil - what tint percentage did you use on your NSX?

Hey Electro

Sorry for the Slow response, I just got back from a road trip from Indy, throught Chicago, Minneapolis, and back to this DAMN TOWN (MINOT ND).

Anyways back to your question, I have 35% on the doors and 5% on the hatch glass. I don't know if I want to go with 35% on the hatch or 5% on the doors.

Does anyone else have an opinion on which way to go? 35% all the way around or 5% all the way around, or just leave it?

Thanks for the comments guys, hope that helps answer your questions.

I presently have 18% Llumar Cantaur Titanium tint. Remember, if you have a black interior the tint will "look" darker on the outside due to the small dark interior space. I have a feeling that 35% is too light, and 5% too dark. Have a look at a similar sized car with 18%, I think you'll be happy!

PUREVIL, oh its no problem man... i understand! See the Georgia law requires that u can only go as low as 35% all around on passenger cars, and on SUV's u can go as dark as you want on all windows except the front two doors.. that limit is also 35%. A friend of mine has 15% on all his windows in his 93 Black on gray leather Thunderbird LX.. it looks sweet, but the thing is that it just looks illegally tinted.. of course he has no problem with that because his dad is the sheriff and has the black and blue stickers on the front and back bumpers. so i really doubt i could get away with it seein as how i'm in my car alot and all over the place... so 25% is the lowest I think I'll go and still maintain the look i want.

Electro, here in ND you can have all the windows behind the driver and front passenger doors as dark as you want, but you can't have ANY on the front doors. I choose 35% cuz I wanted to be able to drive it with out getting nailed. My Suburban has 5% all the way around with 35% on the ENTIRE WINDSHIELD. I haven't got pulled over yet, which surprises me because ND cops have nothing better to do!

Dr Lane, is does your tint have a mirror like finish? You said it was titanium right?

My tint is not mirrored, but it does have some reflectivity. The titanium tint is supposedly better than dyed tint because it will not change colors or fade. I can e-mail you a pic if you are curious.

PUREVIL, how is the visibility w/ the back glass tinted @ 5%? I think i will only go about 25% or something.... just curious thanks

Hey Electro,

To tell you the truth I don't look out the back that much. When I'm backing up I use the side mirrors or just hang my head out window. I hate backing up the NSX because that window is so small. So I always look whats behind me before I back up.

But when I'm switching lanes its not too bad, its harder to see through all the aftermarket stickers I have on the interior back window!
