Not that anyone cares, but I did some research to understand what alternatives would work instead of using the $18/per OEM plugs. Based on what I could find on the forum I opted for the NGK BKR6EIX-11 (3764) from Autozone at $6.99/per. My car is a 91 and has 68K miles and it appeared to have the original OEM plugs, at least they were the same part number. Car drove fine before, but it now has noticibly better bottom end so I suspect the other plugs were sub par due to age. I guess the point of my topic is this, the NGK BKR6EIX-11 appear to work quite well with no issues.

Cool.. only thing i note is that it's human nature to believe that what we did/have done always made things 'better'... butt dyno's are not very realistic since mentally you want to look for anything possibly better.

Perhaps if you could show some of the logic as to what information you read that led u to the conclusion that those spark plugs would be better... or... a dyno chart comparison, that'd be quite awesome.

I did not replace the plugs to make the claim that the NGK 3764 provided any additional power versus OEM, but to show that an alternative plug was suitable for the application without having to pay $18/per. Again, I am not saying the plugs are any better than stock, but probably due to the age and wear of the previous plugs I was able to notice a difference.

I made the post because as I was searching for an alternative plug it was good for me to read about the experiences of others.

VBNSX, Give the guy a break, it's his first post.

Denso spark plugs are another high quality alternative.

Denso makes very high quality parts. The NSX uses OEM Denso oxygen sensors, where NGK (NTK) is the value alternative for O2 sensors.

They kinda switch places:

OEM Sparkplugs: NGK.
Best value alternative: Denso

OEM O2 sensors: Denso.
Best value alternative: NGK (NTK)
