Well, first and foremost, I am happy to report that I am an official NSX owner....it feels great, and my 20 year dream and "ga-ga-ing" over this one car has been realized. Before going any further, I want to sincerly thank those of you who helped me in various ways make this happen:
Tim for all the great words of wisdom / Tim (different one) for all the help on parts and history of service/ Roger, who graciously took the time to not only do a drive by look, but a zillion gigs of great pics, as well as a test drive / and others for advice and data (93nsx / NSX NOOB) ...and of course Les for all your encouraging words and the initial heads up on this car to begin with on NSX Trader... The NSX Prime "team" was great and always there to answer questions and PM's when posted. If I've missed someone, my apologies, but know that I am very appreciative for your assistance.

So the car, is a 2000 Silver T (6 spd)....about 35,000 miles...with much of the major stuff done (TB/WP, etc)...There was a recent PPI done at an Acura dealer so that also helped in providing some re-assurance. Some of you may recognize the car from a while back on this site....it appears to have been garaged more than driven of late, given the history of service records and corresponding mileage. I plan to have a complete "top to bottom" service check done shortly. Stepping up to a 2000 was a stretch for me and my original budget, but when the condition/mileage/service history/and color all align...and price is..well....within striking distance...I had to take a run at it....the fellow whom I bought it from privately was very good to deal with....

Mods are a Taitec exhaust - sounds very deep and powerful, yes, a slight drone at about 2800 RPMS +/-, but I can live with it....Enkei GTC01 wheels in 17" & 18". K & N air filter, Toyo Proxes Tires, 02+ rear valance.

Interior is excellent with only the bubbling A pillars, a slightly torn grille on driver's side speaker (near hinge side) and a few very minor blemishes. Exterior is also very good, with the only things I can see being a slightly scratched front lower valance, a couple of nasty hood paint chips, faded windshield wiper arms, and a few surface scratches which should be able to be buffed out. Paint overall feels great...very much like a new car feel..no build up or residue...the thin red lens for the tailight on the far left side of the spoiler seems to be loose, so if anyone knows how to possibly re-attach this, please let me know. (from the service manuals, it appears there are some self tapping screws that go from inside the spoiler into the lens??...but I can't see where to access the inside of spoiler...)

I haven't really "driven" it yet per say, other than getting it home from the shipping truck and to and from various needed spots.

The import/inspection/safety process is quite extensive ...but happy to say it all worked out fine. Plans are to do a full "toothbrush" detailing of everything....(wheel wells and suspension, undercarriage/engine, and of course top side of engine) I spent two days doing a full Interior and exterior detail.....not that it needed that much work, I am just a bit anal with this kind of thing)

The highlight was surprising my daughter and her escort with permission to take it to her High School Graduation ceremonies....its kind of a tradition here to pullout dad's nice car, or borrow a show car and line them up in front of the school on the lawn , kind of like a show and shine thing .....the grads take some pics and so on in front of them....I was happy to see that the NSX was the class of the field....lots of vettes, a 911, a couple new Camaro's, and several older restored muscle cars. She said everyone was in awe over it, and at first thought it was a Ferrari...folks up this way have no real idea what an NSX even is....

I almost couldn't pull this off, since the car needed two new rear tires to pass the final safety for insurance....so I had to scramble to find two matching tires...(didn't realize this was going to be difficult) but finally a dealer in Florida tracked two down in the size I needed that were a perfect match and expressed them up to me, then quickly to the tire shop to get them installed, the morning of Grad.

Future plans are to do a basic stereo upgrade in the off season, get a new front lower valance and paint match it to body color and drive it as much as possible while the weather permits.....

Thanks again, and look forward to many happy years driving it, looking after it, and surfing Prime....but now as part of the club, not an outsider...Curtis

wow nice dress its matches the Car to the "T"

nice Chick to!! LOL Welcome aboard fellow owner.

...wow nice dress its matches the Car to the "T"

Thanks, that was a complete fluke...she bought the dress 4 months ago for grad....long before I even came across this particular car...although silver was always my #1 choice, I just about pulled the trigger on a red one a couple of months ago.... that would have really messed things up for her...

Nice... welcome.

It looks like you were able to find a jem...

Congratulations and welcome on NSX Prime, your silver NSX is verry nice!!!

Beautiful daughter, beautiful car!
Congratulations Curtis, I know you're smiling a million bucks right now.
You're one lucky guy and I'm sure you and your wife will enjoy this long weekend cruising the supercar down Portage and Main.
Good buy and excellent choice!

Thanks for the kind words Curtis, I'm glad you found such a good one - now I'm jealous! I wanted one of the 3.2s but I was too tight on budget. But you know of course our cars are the fastest! Silver bullet - anyone ever heard of a black bullet, red bullet, green bullet, yellow bullet, etc. - didn't think so.:wink:

You seem to have gotten some nice extras and I sure hope you have many enjoyable miles in your future! This is a great country, a great life and a great site! We have a lot of fun here! Oh, and you have a lovely daughter to go around sporting in your car with! Be careful - some folks might think you're just a dirty ole man...lol. Happy for you!

Wow your daughter is a cupcake (compliment) and her dress with your new car is striking. I am certain she was the talk of the ceremony.
Happy you found and purchased a good one and many happy drives.

Thanks for the warm words...its been a very long search....and yes, I think it was a good deal for all involved....to answer a couple of PM's at once, the picture is of my daughter (not quite 18) and her date for Grad (20)....I'm about 25 yrs his elder.....but I will certainly pass along the kind words to her about the dress....you guys are too much!

Ps- to Alum04org - as you can see, I did decide on a manual tranny!...cheers!

welcome ,very nice story btw:smile: Canada has a strong nsxca.Good luck with the car.

Congrats Curtis on the great NSX. Awfully gracious of you to let them take it to the grad prom! Not sure if I would be as gracious with my new gem  but would have made them be satisfied with my S2000!

Enjoy the beautiful car. I've never owned a car that brings such motoring pleasure each and every time I get behind the wheel. Jay

Congratulations and welcome.

Congrats.
And you let the escort drive it?
Put yourself down for Dad of the Year.

I was going to say the same thing. Congrats and that must be a really good kid for you let him drive your new nsx out.

Well, he is a good young fellow (so far....?) and other than myself, was the only one who knows how to drive a manual in the household. (that's his Jetta in the background)...my daughter really wanted to have it as part of the grad, and I didn't mind having it part of the parade of cars either.....it was either him or me, and I didn't think me driving up with my daughter was "cool"....nice thing was that the school was only a few blocks from our home, and after the ceremony and dinner (with parents), the students get bussed off directly to their "after-grad" party, so I got to drive the NSX home with my wife - which was her first time in the car....we were also all spiffed up, and got a lot of head turns as we took the long way home through town....I hadn't told anyone at work or friends about it...but needless to say, the jig is now up...

Good story Curtis; now I can see why you let him drive it ----what ---a couple of blocks - I know it was a thrill for the kid. I should have known he wasn't behind the wheel for any extended period of time!

Say, how'd the wife like getting in and out of the car??? That's not my wife's favorite part I can tell you.

Good for you. You're a good sport to let the kids do that. I have done the same sort of thing, but in years past some Primers have not had good outcomes from their otherwise good intentions.

Congrats, and enjoy the car.

I am curious to know the comments of your daughter and of your wife after the walk in NSX, they were happy? comfortable? noisy engine? congratulations for the dress of your daughter, it is sublime with the NSX:smile:

Congratulations on the new NSX.

I am from Winnipeg as well and I just bought my 1991 NSX on May 21st. I have been out to the Pony Corral show on Sunday at Grant Park Shopping Centre and cruising up and down Portage avenue later on Sunday after the show. Bring the new car out. I have seen 2 black, a red, a green and a spa yellow NSX so far around. It will be nice to see a silver one join the little club. Get used to the looks and stares and picture taking and strangers coming up to you asking a million questions. The best so far was "Is that the new electric Acura model?" (I had the front open, not the engine compartment).

Hopefully we will get some sunny days this Summer and the rain will stay away. That way you can get out and enjoy the new car. I hope to see you around Winnipeg and we will get introduced.

Congrats as well, i was gona say i thought that was his car and his gf must be loving it. Nice color combo. Have fun with the car, I know you will....who cant love this car.
