It was a really great dinner meeting we had last night! One of the best gatherings I've been to in quite some time. Lots of folks came out, we had great food, and the atmosphere was just really pleasant. =) We gotta do this more often! I also want to thank Steve Riter one more time for his efforts and his courage in daring to have a get-together in the middle of everyone. Cheers!

How were the runs on Pershing? Si, Lawrence, and I ended up following Tan on accident, who we were led to believe knew the way, and went all the way down to Wilmington before I pulled up alongside and asked where the hell he was going! His response... home. <groan> By the time we got back to Pershing, everyone had taken off. Suffice it to say we were quite disappointed.

Anyone got pictures?

You guys were flying, I had a tuff time catching up. Vince, remember what I said about bringing my car to your house, well I figured since working right by Acura of Pasadena, I'll just drop the car off there and pick it up after work. Called them and they said, a-ok bring in the car, at first I saw the entrance to the garage looked some what steep, but what the heck it's an Acura dealer, my car should go in with no problem, went half way in and wham the car is stuck in the middle. Pulled the car out asked one of the technician do all NSX scraps here, and he said yep all of them. Well this is for all those that are contempleting on bringing in their NSX to service there, YOUR CAR WILL NOT FIT IN THEIR GARAGE.

I apologize.

Yeah,

want to thank everyone for coming out, especially Steve for setting up the event. This was my first event and met a lot of nice owners. Everyone was pleasent until the actual drive. i was trailing Tan as well and did not manage to get onto the on ramp. Boy you guys drive fast. Anyways, needless to say i was lost, so i just drove home.

It was great meeting all of you, you guys are a good bunch. I want to specifically thank vince, tan, chris, jason, eric, david, and jay for making a newbie feel welcomed.

Tan,

i forgot to get mike's (S2000)info??? Can you pass my info ([email protected]) along to him? your car is awesome btw!!!

I look forward to many more events and future drives with all of you.

Yes, definitely nice to see such a large gathering again (almost too large as I didn't get to talk with many of you)...and it was nice to see many of the OC gang that I hadn't seen since the CalCoastal meetings started.

As for Pershing, being a local I was wondering why everyone headed right out of the Proud Bird parking lot. All we had to do was make a left, and a quick right on to Imperial...and ride Imperial all the way down to Pershing. But since everyone made the right, I followed the entire group (I was at the very back with an NSX, some S2000s, and the 350Z). By the time our pack had circled back to Imperial Highway, I think I was the only who turned the right direction...and when I got to Pershing, I only found Doug (360), Wayne (355), Jeff(?) (Skyline GTR), and a silver NSX playing around (I think they had already had their fun and were getting ready to drive home). Oh well. I'm sure there will be plenty of other chances to see everyone play.

Any word on how Marc "SpeedDemon" (twin turbo NSX-T) fared against Doug and Wayne?

Si, I don't recall bottoming out at Acura of Pasadena. I bought my car there and have brought it in a few times for servicing. When you say "bottom out", are you referring to the chin spoiler scraping?

thanks to Steve for arranging the meeting, it was great meeting fellow owners, I had a blast driving along side the 2 ferraris on the way up. Looking forward to the next one.

Khue, let's chat offline about our repair list, and mod list

or potential mod list,

Well, it's been 2 years or so since I had my NSX. Bearing that in mind, it seems very similar in performance (which the published stats back up). I havent really had a chance to get it out in the twisties yet (I'm going to try and get out to Mt Palomar in early October), but my impression of the handling is VERY good so far. And of course the Brembos are extremely solid.

I'm also enjoying having all the latest goodies, like a DVD based NAV, programmable shift light, 6 speed tranny, hell even power steering.

I do sorely miss the engine sound of the NSX, lower stance, and the seating position/view of the road.

It was great meeting you all. Took some pics while waiting for others to arrive.

Whose red and black NSX was that that were in the video Akira?

The red one is Marc "SpeedDemon" Struhl's twin turbo NSX-T.

It's too dark to see who is driving the black one in the clip, and I can't make out what rims are on it either.

Nice.

Were the closeup pics of the 350Z Brembo's of the rear or front wheels? If they are of the front, they look sorta small.

I like the modified TE-37 they put on the Z. It looks sweet.

Damn, I wish I could go... but I pretty much get out of work around 6pm.

Those meetings are pretty fun. I took a half day off to check one out. I wish I was closer...

That was the front. I think the Z and the Skyline had same brakes. If it's good enough for heavier car such as the Skyline, it must be good enough for the Z.

Great meeting I must say. Friendly folks, nice cars, can't ask for more. The F and N cars definitely brightened up the mix.

I was fortunate enough to ride with Jason in his Z. I must say that it is a great car. I really like the interior layout of the car. The seats are supportive and a bit more upright then the X. It may not have the same punch as the X, but it definitely is much fast than the Audi TT that Jason had. The Nav system with the help of the carpool lane put us 20 minites ahead of the rest of the pack.

Khue, if you are going to the PV Concours, I'll bring the exhaust tips with me. Let me know.

Pershing drive was a blast!.. I had a lot of fun racing against Wayne's modified Ferrari 360.

Which car was the fastest? The NSX of course!
smile.gif

The racing was pretty much 2nd through 4th gear.. I usually could pull a couple car lengths on him. It was a slow, smooth sort of pull, and seemed to be consistent through the gears. (A little pull in 2nd, a little in 3rd, a little in 4th, etc).

I really appreciated Wayne giving me the opportunity to have so many back-to-back contests.. (Thanks Wayne!) What a gorgeous and great-sounding car!

The event was a lot of fun, lots of good turnout and a great mix of cars! I hope we can do an event in that vicinity again every few months, it allows more of the CalCoastal & Orange-County crowd to get together.

Best,
Marc
