I have been researching this forum with great success and just decided to join officially today. My current toys are up for sale and I would like to buy a NSX in the next month or so. Two questions which I cannot find an answer to are as follows:
1. I am 6'3" tall....do I need to lower the driver seat (had to do that in a S2000 to get adequate headroom)?
2. Will my proposed NSX fit on my two post service lift (i.e. clearance)? Doing my own automotive work is my hobby and I have commercial garage space.

Thanks in advance for any help with these two questions. I am convinced that a NSX is in my nearterm future!!!

Welcome to the best forum around.

The stock seat skims along the carpet so your only option is replacing the cushion to reduce its thickness. This will get you 2-3" additional headroom and I'm guessing you will want it. If you get the right person involved, I'll bet you can get a very nice-looking result.

The car should have no problem on a 2-post lift unless it requires a lot more than the normal amount of clearance.

I just had a local guy try my car on for size as he wants to buy one. He was at least 6'4" and fit fine. But then another friend at 5'11" didn't. Depends on your body type. But with a lowering cushion it's fairly roomy.

I am basically 6'2.5" and fit pretty decent in my 91 coupe. I did have to lean the seatback a bit to gain some headroom, but even in more of a driver/racer position I still had enough clearance. My biggest concern was the pedal placement as I have size 14 feet. Luckily there is adequate room on the gas pedal to clear the brake pedal. The Viper I drove was too close for comfort.

As mentioned, it is more dependent on your torso length then your overall height. I am just shy of 6'2" with a 32" inseam and while my legs fit just fine my head is right at the roof line in the targa. I was unable to fit a helmet on while in the car and had to do some seat modifications to get it working. You basically just take out the seat cushion and sit on the floor. I think someone with a shorter torso and longer inseam would have an easier time.

If you've never sat in one you should try to, maybe contact a local member and arrange a meet up location. As for the 2 post lift, it shouldn't be an issue assuming your garage ceiling height is in the 9 foot range.

A NSX fits nicely on our 2-post lift, I just built some wooden 'shims' to get the cars high enough to clear the arms.....since ours are riding at below stock ride height.

Very true. I'm 6' but with a long torso and you'll likely want to reduce the seat cushion like I did. It's not a sacrifice because the driving position is better for me.

I am just a hair under 6'8" (more legs than torso) and I fit in my 92' without the modified seat cushion. Don't get me wrong, I have very little headroom (3/4 inch) and I have to drive with shoes that have thin soles but I do fit and I am not uncomfortable.

That has to be a record. 6'8"?

 Not sure if it is, but I think it would be difficult to go any taller.

This is my biggest problem ... I have size 16.5. I literally have driving slippers I wear or I just wear slip ons.

I am 6'2" and removed some of the padding from the bottom of the seat cushion and fit quite comfortably. This also has the side benefit of making the bolsters hold on to you more in the turns.
