Have a '93. In the dash dial gauges, at the bottom middle there is an icon of the car telling you if a door, hatch or bonnet is open. At the bottom center of the icon is a bar labeled brake. It occasionally comes on ether very bright or very dim. I checked all lights. They work. I checked brake pads. They're fine. What is this light trying to tell me?
I also removed the spare tire and installed a lithium battery. There is now a large cavity there that is open to elements from underneath. Is there such a thing as a form-fitted plastic insert that I can put in there to close it off?

Jay, it's usually worth doing a search in the forums first when you find a problem.
Pretty much everything that can go wrong with an NSX has been detailed and in most cases an owner has taken the time to explain the fix needed.
Here are three that came up in a quick search.
There are many more.

If I remember correctly, the brake lamp coming on for no reason may be a sign that the capacitors in your instrument gauge cluster are on their way out. Have a look at this and then search for similar blog entries: http://www.nsxcb.co.uk/entry.php?1851-Emergency-Gauge-Tail-Light-Assy-service-01&

In case you don't know, Kaz is one of the engineers who was on the original design team of the first generation NSX. You can find lots of great information about how to keep your car in top condition in his blog over on the NSX Club of Britain's website.

Good luck and please post what the problem was and how you solved it!
