Not what you are thinking, but still a serious and very annoying problem I am having with the CD changer.

For no apparent reason, my cd cartridge will pop itself out of the changer, and it will show the E-02 error on the player, I need to get out of the car, open the truck and push the cartridge back in, then it's fine until the next time it happens again.

Problem is intermitent, it can happen when I switch between radio/CD, or turn the unit on/off, no apparent cause.

anyone knows if this can be fixed? or what I can do?

I had a problem with my changer and had to take to Acura dealer and he sent it to California (Alpine) to fix it. Free of charge to boot. Then again, my company owns the dealership.

The dealer rebuild (send to Alpine) is $175 list. It rocks. Or buy one on eBay or stick a block of wood under the sliding door to keep it from ejecting. The problem appears to me to originate when the voltage drops as you start the car. Probably a capacitor in the unit that's not holding enough charge.

I had the same problem with my changer. It eventually died completely. In the process of trouble shooting the problem I unplugged and reconnected all the connectors to the changer including the smart tenna. This changed nothing. I took a voltage reading at the changer and had no voltage. I was using a straightened paper clip connected to a volt meter to insert into the socket(maint manual identifies power connection), starting at the trunk bulkhead every power connection junction I checked had power. When I reconnected the changer It worked and has worked ever since. I think there was some kind of bad connection cured by inserting the paper clip in to the socket. Of course this is try at your own risk, Mite try inserting paper clip with power off. Good luck
