Hi all,

I did a search but didn't find anything recent. Does anybody have any experiences with Precision Auto in Pleasanton? Looking at purchasing a car in the area and the owners are willing to take it there for a PPI, though I've been asking to take it to Don @ Hill Top. I do understand their hesitation since it's almost an hour away, but still...

Thank you!

Never heard of it. What about the Pleasanton Acura dealership as a compromise. They have an NSX tech there.

Pleasanton Acura would work as well. I was hoping someone could recommend one over the other for a PPI.

I just got off the phone with Pleasanton Acura. The woman who answered the phone had no idea what a NSX was and thought it was an Infiniti FX. Haha.

From searching I read that there was a NSX technician named Lance working there. He is no longer there. The woman I spoke with couldn't tell me if there was another NSX technician on staff, but is having an advisor call me back with the info.

If anybody has any info that can help, that'd be great. Thank you!

There is only Cologne Auto Body for a frustratingly thorough PPI.

Yes. A PPI from there will tell you all the things you didn't want to know were wrong with your car. It hurts so good.

I can highly recommend Precision Auto.

I've owned an NSX in Pleasanton for 14 years, and have used three service places. First was Import Doctors, but when the owner stopped doing the work, the quality went way downhill. Second was Acura of Pleasanton (the dealer); a very bad experience -- took them three tries to fix my problem and they billed me each time (but they do make you feel like you're at a Hyatt resort). Third was Precision; consistently good outcomes.

Some advice: make sure you engage with Tyler (the owner) for anything unusual (and I would include a PPI in that). The front desk guys are very good with routine stuff but don't know the NSX and its idiosyncrasies. Second, educate yourself and be willing to argue a bit. When my ABS was acting up, the default response was a very expensive replacement when really it just needed a flush and some exercise. Prime is your friend in this. On the other hand, they replaced my entire AC system (including the dreaded dashboard removal) for a very reasonable price.

I know Don at Hilltop has very consistent raves, but that's a 3-hour round trip. Tyler has always come through for me.

Thank you cmthomson!

Haven't read the best stuff about Acura of Pleasanton so wanted to take it somewhere else. They never called me back today come to think of it.

I spoke with Ben at Precision today and he knew the car. Looks like the PPI will be performed there!
