Thanks

I am sure that Mr. Nazi will chime in here. There was a Black Targa conversion for sale on Ebay for about six months, never sold. It is not a wise move unless you are building an all "show" car. Most people felt a car w/ the conversion was considered a total. I agree. The best way to convert your car to a targa is:

A) Sell your car

B) Keep saving the money you would have wasted on the conversion.

C) Buy a NSXT - factory car

I have personally seen a few cars destroyed by conversions. I have owned a XJS convert that leaked, creaked and shuttered like mad with the top down. I bought the "Factory" conversion kit and it was a huge disappointment.

My experience...

Actually that car did finally sell. It went thru eBay maybe 5 times, always getting bid up to a surprisingly high $28K or so, but never hitting reserve. Then they finally listed it w/ no reserve, and it sold in the hi 20s. Havent heard of it since..

Back to the topic - I saw that car on eBay and was intrigued by the idea of a Targa for 30 grand, and I posted here asking the same question. The response was unanimous - STAY AWAY from that thing!

Perhaps, Forums Nazi is being quite lenient nowadays.

Ya tiger but there is no picture of it, which I'm looking for . ANd the ebay link from one of the threads turned out to be unknown item already

I think the eBay pics looked just like any regular T-Top from the outside. As others have mentioned, I would not feel safe driving that. I can just imagine the dash folding down on your legs in an accident...

We all know to do it right would cost a lot more then just selling and buying a new one.

Even with Honda's engineering they had to de-tune the suspension after the "upgrade" presumably due to a loss in rigidity.
