Guys,

I just picked up a 91 with 86k and at first I just thought the steering was very tight. After driving it for a while I think the Power Steering is not working. My VSS is going out and I was wondering if that might have anything to do with it??

Your thoughts...

I didn't think ANY '91s had PS but...........NO PS is a good thing.

Now go lift some weights

Do you have an automatic transmision if not then you do not have power steering. (edit) I see you have a manual trans car so no worries about power steering you don't have it.

 NO PS!! They can build a car as amazing as the NSX and can't put PS in it!!

You bought a NSX and didn't know this about the car?

Power steering? We don't need NO stinkin' power steering.

All I knew was that it had a V8 and was made of fiberglass. That was enough for me

It sounds like you bought an ultra rare Ferrari 308GTS. I believe that fewer than 100 were ever made.

I was wondering what that horse was on the steering wheel. I thought they had given me a mustang

The 91 models (manual transmission) have Armstrong steering, not power steering.

I live in NYC and very rarely do I moan about not having power steering ( unless when I'm parallel parking in a tight spot. )

Enjoy the great feedback that you get from not having powersteering. You can actually feel the front wheels skip over the bumps while they're gripping and slipping. Its awesome.

Honda designed it to not have powersteering for a reason, feedback. Honda took the powersteering out again when they introduced the Alex Zanardi edition of the NSX to save weight, and to increase feed back feel.

There is no weight over the front wheels, and the steering rack have a relatively slow ratio so its not bad at all even though it has no powersteering. after 10mph I can drive one handed no problem.

Happy U-turning!!lol

I wish my '03 didn't have power steering.

Jonny, these guys are laying it on thick. You're a good sport to take it. The early model NSX's did not come with PS until around '94 or '95. Then Honda provided power assist steering that cuts out around 35mph.

Purists will say boo, but I sort of like it. Too each his (or her) own.

Cheers!
Shaun
