After spending several weeks trying to track down opinions on different shock and spring combinations for my NSX, and trying to find out what the results actually looked like on the car, I figured there had to be an easier way. Hence the purpose of this thread.

Instructions: Post a picture of your car (preferably from the side so the results can be seen more clearly) along with the year of your NSX, the shock and spring combination that is on it, and wheel sizes.

Please DO NOT post any discussion of the setup, as there are other threads for that. This thread is ONLY to provide a quick visual resource to what the vehicle will look like after the mods. Even if your setup is already posted, please post your car picture anyway so that we can see if there are any variations. This should help us all if done right. Thank you.

(*I will go first to show what we are looking for generally.)

To get a better idea, you may want to specify cars with aftermarket suspension and 7 spoke OEM wheels. Mine are 17/18. I hope it helps.

Rear drop: 1/2"

Randy,

Awesome pic! With all the down force generated from the wing and spoiler, it probably is lower than when it is sitting still.;)

You may want to periodically measure the ride height of your car. I got the same amount of drop right after the install. I was thinking why it didn't drop 1.25" front and back as claimed. I measured it 2 years later. To my surprise, it dropped almost 1.5" front and back. Of course it looks much better now, but it is necessary to realign the car after awhile. For me it was 1 set of rear tire in 2 years 6k miles.

Chris,

Downforce? You're killing me!! ;)

As for some later settling, you might be right. I felt the same way when the car was lowered back in 2001, that my car wasn't as low as I expected it to be. I took the measurements in difference back then and was mildly disappointed.

Since then, I've been looking at other NSXs with 1"+ drops, and my car isn't much different, so it may have settled a bit. Unfortunately, I don't remember what my measurement was at OEM height, so I can't make the comparison anymore. :(

Here is the car a few months after the drop. Is it a little higher?

It feels like a woman asking me "Do I look fat in these pants." :D Of course you ARE a manly man.

Seriously, It is really hard to tell since you have changed the wheels and added a body kit to your car. But it sure looks a heck of a lot nicer the way it is now. The mega down force of the wings also pushes the car closer to the ground. ;)

Regardless, I think most Eibach springs settle after a while. Did you get scare face taken cared of?

Chris,

Like I said, that downforce stuff you keep saying is killing me!! :)

Seriously though, the wheels are different, but I went with the same tire sizes. Of particular interest is the slight difference in the gap between the top of the front tire and the top of the front arch evident between both pictures. Maybe it's just me, but I think my car has less space in there now.

Thank you for the pictures!! Do you happen to have a side shot of your '93 NSX so that we can get a better idea of what amount of wheel gap is left when the Eibach/Bilstein combo is left on the higher perch?? Thanks again! :)
