So far this year has been too hot for driving and temps are in the mid 90 to 100 range by noon.

So I thought I'd just toss out the question and see if I get any bites. I've met a few new drivers and amassed a fairly decent list of cars and drivers.

If anyone would be up for a drive, maybe we can do one on short notice next weekend. On either July 14th Saturday, or Sunday July 15th.
A drive would require a meet time of 7:30am.

If NOT, then maybe a brief "Cars & Coffee" at either the Frontenac or Rockhill Starbucks.
A "Cars & Coffee" meet time could be later at about 9am.

Again I'm going to base this off response and interest.

If people are down for a drive we'll do that. If people just wanna meet to catch up and shoot the shit while bringing their cars out...... That's cool to.

Let me know!!!

I wouldn't mind doing a Coffee & Cars thing... but not at 7:30 am. 9 sounds alot better since I have an hour drive there.

FYI, there is a Drifting Event & Car Show at Gateway on the 15th. I'm taking the NSX if you guys wants to hang out. It starts at 9am.

Maybe cars and coffee at 9am, and then if people want to make a trip over to the track???

I might be down for that.

If people are down, I'm going to go ahead and shoot out an email and aim for JULY 15TH @ 9AM at the Rock Hill Starbucks for the Cars & Coffee get together.

So far got Ferrari forums member "Champagne612" who will be attending, and Eric is down.

So....
Joe
Eric
Champagne612

Will be attending this Cars & Coffee on July 15th.

It starts at 9am, so I'll just meet you guys over there. I'm going to pay the $20 to enter the car show.

Updated list...

Joe - NSX
Ray - BMW M3
Champagne612 - Ferrari 612?

Might be a small gathering.

Got her all shined up, huh?

man, I hardly drive it.... it just sits under a cover.... and in this heat, forget about it

I'm only entering the carshow so that I can park inside the complex. If you pay for spectator parking, you get stuck in the gravel lot.

Hey Joe, you got any extra Meth laying around? I need my fix dog, and word on the street is, you carry a 50 gallon drum around in your trunk..

We are having a car show at the shop Saturday the 14th from 9AM to 4PM as a kickoff of our customer appreciation week. The shop will be open for tours, and the car show is more of an informal get together with a bunch of really cool car guys hanging out and eating free food. All are welcome, and we are BBQ a whole hog so there should be lots of food. Pray for good weather and we hope to see as many of you guys there as possible. Sorry for the late notice, and thanks Joe for your help with getting the word out.

I check the level before every drive. As of yesterday, I'm half full. But, I would still like some extra on hand. If Joe doesn't mind, I'll take a gallon or two. I know he doesn't have much room to carry around a jug.

If I see him I will send some your way.

Dave,
Pork fantastic, sampled that after a chunk of fritter, got some tips from the chef as well. Really super machinery on the lot. Sorry that we couldn't stick around. For the rest of you guys, hope you get there, if you didn't make it early, you missed the 2nd best apple Fritters in the country from Kelley's in North County.:smile:

^ Always braggin bout those elusive fritters . I was there around 11:30am and the pork was delicious, beer was cold and some very impressive iron in the lot.
Very nice get together Dave, thanks for the invite. Thinking about Joliet, will let you know.

Serious iron, mostly domestic but I can appriciate well done cars no matter what they are.

Thanks for those that made it out and hope you all got some of the PIG, they put that baby on at 9PM Friday night and stayed up all night "Basting" that baby untill it was perfectly cooked. I really think it was an excuse for a bunch of guys to get out of the house and drink beer away from their wives, but whatever the excuse you can not argue with the end product. The guys at Lloyd & Harry's Bar & Grill did the cooking, and sponsored the food for the event as well, great bunch of guys and great food.

Both Pur Performance and Speed and Specialties co-sponsored the event. While Pur Performance tends to lean towards the more modern muscle and performance cars the guys at Speed and Specialties are keeping it old school with a strong focus on street rods and customs, both shops have forged a freindship and work together to offer their customers a unique blend of modern and clasic performace cars and trucks.

We had a great turn out with cars and trucks comming and going all day at the informal car show & cruise. We will do it again next year for sure. The procedes from the show and charity event held at the shop later in the evening benefited "The Foundation of Love" a small local organization that provides affordable, traditional homes to adults with developmental disabilities in Saint Charles County. The events of the day raised several thousand dollars and was a blast.

Sorry to those who came and we did not get a chance to hang out and talk, as a volunteer for both events my time was stretched thin, but thank you for comming out and next year maybe we can get the rest of the NSX guys out as well. For the first time event we were surprised by the great turn out and look forward to an even larger event next year.
