Poor starting after 2 weeks

The engine turns over slowly and then it starts with-in 3 seconds. It sounds so slow I expected the starter motor to stop turning and then start clicking. Maybe it sat too much all winter as I only start it every 2 weeks or so and let it run for 15 minutes. I drove it once for a few blocks but then it had the over heat issue so I'm trying not to run it until spring which is 6 weeks away here. The NSX tech spoke to me about the -+ cables years before but I forget what he said and he put the new battery in last time.

My past experience is the NSX can be left outside for 3 weeks and still start. It's indoors all winter now.

The alternator reads 14.5 volts at start and drops to under 14 after it charges the battery for 15 minutes.

The battery is under 2 years old.

sounds like battery is weak

lucky it started bfore the battery died on ya eh

drive it around and it will get charged back up. or you can use a battery tender.

I cringe when the car doesn't start. Last time it failed was 30 minutes before it was due at Acura for new brakes, fluids, and a new battery. It had started OK a couple of days earlier. Luckily the parkade people phoned for their service truck and we jumped the NSX. I refused a direct connection and because of where the car was the jumper cables didn't reach anyways so they went back and got a spare battery and we used that to jump the NSX battery as the spare tire was out. And it was free.
And it turned out the NSX tech had to do an emergency transmission R&R for some out of town RL so me being late didn't matter. Then he worked 4 hours on my car and my bill was extra low.

I have permission to use the parkade electrical power but I need a long extension cord, which I have, but I have not needed to see if it's long enough.

I hope the new NSX is a hybrid electric powered sports car.

you can jump the car from the fuse box in the back

quick and easy and you dont need to take off the spare wheel or nothing.

give me a battery jump pack and i'll have it up and running in 30 seconds

warm regards
Rob:smile:
