I'm not a fan of how the NSX-R spoiler breaks up the lines of the car, but I do like the CF look/weight savings. I thought it might be nice to have a version of the factory spoiler in CF to keep the lines of the car.
Here is a photoshop that one of our fellow members did for me. It doesn't have the perfect cf look to it, but you get a pretty good idea...

Good idea, but just bear in mind that the NA1 NSX-R had one too, and people are not running out to get those.

My chop is better   I think it looks good , But i do like the TYPE R look.

Since I have a NSX-R spoiler, I'm clearly not the intended audience, but I think when it's just a replacement in the same form as the stock spoiler, it looks a bit like a car that just got a replacement part from the junkyard and hasn't yet gotten around to painting it....

That's any unpainted CF. ;)

But if the weight savings are there I don't see why a little interest wouldn't sprout up. And you can always paint it. Looks stock, but lighter. There's got to be a market for that.

The survey so far... 1:12

Therefore, it is not a favorable idea...

BTW, the Zanardi edition spoiler is a lighter version. Unless you must have the CF look, there is really no point for the vender to produce one.

Are they readily available?

Anyone with an NA1 NSX-R Chassis number should be able to ordeer one from Japan. It might take some time and money, but you should get a repl, acement in the end.

AFAIK Honda does not like selling NSX-R parts to the open public.

There is one of us out here that wants the R spoiler purely for weight savings (I'd paint mine). Procar however, who seems to be able to get R parts out the ying/yang (he-he), says it never existed (what?). A bit frustrating. The early literature said the spoiler was "lightweight". I also got the impression they were CF, but I haven't been able to verify that. I don't really care, in fact plastic would be better as there would never be any fiber showing. Sorry guys, but I think the factory and copy late model R spoilers look "add-on". I'd say the early spoiler/body intergration is undoubtably the best auto spoiler design ever. At least until the F-body camaro came out that is (he-he again), those bastards!
