POLL: 02 Rear Valence - Paint Entire Valence or just Lower Part?

I ordered the 2002+ Rear Valence for my 2000 NSX. The standard is just to paint the lower part of the valence, but leave the part around the top of the exhaust black and the vertical bars in front of the mesh grill black. However, I've seen a few cars where everything is painted except for the mesh grill. I've seen one such car in person and at first, I didn't even recognize it as the 2002 lower valence.

So, my question is, which option do you think looks better? I'll post a few pictures, but if anyone has any more pictures that would help me decide (especially ones with the entire valence painted), that would be greatly appreciated and would help me make my decision.

EDIT: Well, I tried to create a Poll, but it didn't take me to the Poll creation screen after I posted the thread (I did check the box to add a Poll). I guess just share your opinions, but if anyone can tell me how to create a poll after the message has been created, that would be great.

To each their own, but my preference would be to paint it like the OEM scheme.

Leave it black. The OEM look is much better. The other looks to me like the car was worked on at a body shop and the paint guy didn't know better.

Leave the center black. Having the whole thing painted screams rear end collision, and the shop didn't know any better. ( exactly what turbo2go said )

Someone has to say it. I'd paint it all red, for the same reason as I prefer wing mirrors to match the body colour.... to me a uniform look all-over body colour (not broken up by black plastic or black paint) is a good thing.

I think most people will naturally tend prefer what they're used to seeing and have come to recognize that style as "how a NSX should look"... which would be to paint the centre section flat black.

If you want your car to look like every other NSX, paint it like every other NSX.

Otherwise do whatever YOU prefer

Ditto.

When I did the valance on my 2001, I followed the factory scheme and had the back part painted a low lustre black and then the entire valance was clear coated to make it easy to maintain. The factory look is the best IMHO. That was the single biggest improvement I did for the looks of my 2001 BTW.

Question: Is the center grille painted flat black as well?

Thanks,

by the way, I like the factory scheme the most. If you're going to paint the whole thing on a 02 valence, then might as well paint your stock non-02 valence the same color.

i see you got my car in the 2nd pic. It's at the body shop now getting a repaint. i am painting the rear valence center matte black. it look better that way. when i originally did the kit i overlooked the valence.

Yours was the only reason I even considered painting the whole thing the same color in the first place!

Sounds like the overwhelming preference is for the standard paint scheme and I can see why, although I think KO-NSX's car looks pretty darn good in person from the rear, although to be honest, I'm not even sure you'd recognize it as the 02+ rear valence.

Hopefully my car will be there later this year, just waiting on my side skirts and a new front bumper to show up. Are you having your front end re-painted as well?

Where are the tires?

When I had my car painted with the new 2002+ lower valence, it was first painted all red.
But seeing it in real live, the back end of the car suddenly seemed very big with all that red. So I had the middle section painted black again.

Looks much better now.
