I'm thinking of having my calipers polished then clear powder coated. Has anyone tried this? Do calipers polish up bright & silvery or do they end up with a gunmetal look?

Sounds like a lot of work... A couple of years ago, my friend polished his spare set of miata rims and tried to put a clear coat on them. Needless to say, they looked like sh%t....the clear coat was dull looking. If you're not worried about adding extra weight, how about just get them chromed? I've seen many sportbikes (drag bikes, in particular) chrome just about everything.....

The calipers are cast iron, so they will not polish out to the color and luster of aluminum. Silver paint may be a better approach. It looks great on Vytas' NSX.
