On top of most of the paint being gone from the lettering my key was looking pretty rough and beat up, I wish I had a before shot.

Just slathered some paint over the area with the letters and polished it off with the rest of the key, the buffer didn't remove any of the paint from the sunk down lettering, really happy with how it came out. :)

...and they say its an obsession... Nahhh !

Thats a very shiny key, nice

I gave up getting my keys cut.

so mine are still brand new uncut since the last 2 keys were cut wrong by Home Depot and Lowes,

so I have a generic Acura key. I dont wanna risk having someone cut it wrong again. so my 2 remaining uncut keys look nice on the shelf. LOL

Mine is 20 years old now. I used it once just to see if it works. The original owner never used it, ever. Looks brand new.
It is kinda big to carry around in your pocket.

Is there a problem with a dealership cutting a key?

yeah they dont have the machine anymore.

I dont know why they wouldnt. I gave up getting it cut like 2 years ago.

Im over it.

^ you can send to me the original one and the uncutted one... i go to a friend´s key shop and he cuts it...he did mine....ohhh and he also is a NSX owner :biggrin:

FYI,
The key does NOT need a special titanium cutting blade to cut.
Any key cutting machine will do. Just don't go there and tell them that your key is titanium and that it needs special cutting tool!!!
I got mine cut (3 keys with 3 different times) at K-mart for the same price and results as regular customer.

I polished mine a while back with a dremmel tool and that thing got HOT !!! It really shocked me how quicky it got dirty again. :frown:

question for the OP....did you let the paint dry before polishing it ?

I never used mine, either. Didn't think of it as a key to use, but rather a thing to keep in a box as a keepsake ... until I came home one day and found the car gone. The wife had taken it for a spin. When she came home, I didn't act mad, just got the key back and hid it.
I also need to touch up a spot where she rimmed the RR wheel for me.
*sigh*
