Driver Hits Vehicle Parked on Shoulder of 405 and Dies
From a Times Staff Writer

A South El Monte man was killed early Saturday when his pickup crashed into the back of a vehicle parked on the shoulder of the San Diego Freeway in Westminster.

Tan Doan Nguyen, 34, apparently drifted across four lanes of traffic in his white 1988 Toyota on the northbound freeway before striking the vehicle, Orange County deputy coroner Rod Thomas said. Nguyen died at the scene of the 4 a.m. accident, near Springdale Street.

No other details were available. The California Highway Patrol is investigating.

God, I hope not as well.:( The initials are exactly the same and the birth date puts him in the same range. Can anybody verify?

I am sad to hear about the loss of life. At the same time, I am glad to hear that Calvin has recently spoken to "Tantheman".

As PHOEN$X said., "Phew!!!!"

To make myself feel at ease, I did call him and he is OK. This is good news, but certainly there is sympathies towards anyone who was killed in an accident, even if I don't know the person.

Nice to know I got some people looking out for me. I am glad that was not me as well. My message center is full of inquiries, wanting to know who I left the Monaco Blue NSX-T to in my will.

Thanks guys...

Tan

Phew...that was a close one! I got a really bad feeling when I read the name in the paper...

condolense for the Nguyen family.

Bad idea to pull over on side of freeway with blinkers late at night. Drunk or the sleepy tend to draw their eyes to it like a magnet. if you must get out of the car and out of harms way.
