My kids were playing in my nsx and left the lights on.
The car will not start and I cannot find the battery in the rear engine hatch or
under the hood.
My maunal is also missing:frown:
Does anyone have a pic were the battery is or where to jump start it?
Thanks

I own a food manufacturing plant and the first reply that helps me start the car gets free snacks.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The battery is under the hood, right behind the spare tire.

However, there are terminals in the fusebox in the engine compartment designed specifically for jumping the car, so you don't have to reach way, way down to where the battery is.

The owner's manual illustrates where the fusebox is. If I recall correctly, the fusebox with the terminals is at the top left front corner of the engine compartment. The terminals there are a lot easier to reach, and you have less chance of brushing against other metal parts because it's easier to see, too.

(It may be only one terminal, and you can use the engine block or connected hardware for the ground connection, just as you would when jump-starting at a battery on any other car.)

If you need to get a replacement for your owner's manual, you can buy one here.

And don't let your kids play in the car!

Well looks like you are in the lead for the goodies.
I think only a picture of where to jump start with arrows at the fuse box would win out right now.
I am at work so it will be a couple hours .:frown:

I was correct with my description of the location of the main fuse box. It's just to the left of the big white coolant tank, left side of the engine compartment, easily within reach. Pop up the cover and you'll see a terminal (just a piece of metal; I think it might be square rather than round) sticking up.

This description should be enough for you to find it, even without a picture. But if you still need a diagram to locate the fuse box, go to the NSX service manual (click here for the electronic version, which is a large .pdf file, and enter page 1000 of 1420 at the bottom of your Adobe Acrobat reader, which will take you to page 23-14 of the 1991 service manual).

I'll keep looking in the service manual to see if there's a diagram of the terminal for jumping; just a sec...

Okay, the description in the previous post will show you where the main fuse box is located.

In that same .pdf file, go to page 1034 of 1420 (which is page 23-48 of the service manual) and it has a diagram of the fuse box contents. The "jump start terminal" is labeled in the diagram. (But again, I think you'll see it right away when you open the fuse box.)

I guess the only people who know about this are those who have had to jump-start a dead battery on our NSXs...

I don't know if you've ever jump-started a car, but there are complete instructions for jump-starting a car on this website, including photos.

The order in which you connect and disconnect the jumper cables is important:

STEP 1: Connect one end of the Positive(+) cable to the terminal in the NSX fuse box. (On any other car, you would be connecting it to the Positive(+) post of the dead battery.)

STEP 2: Connect the other end of the Positive(+) cable to the Positive(+) post of the good battery.

STEP 3: Connect one end of the Negative(-) cable to the Negative(-) post of the good battery.

STEP 4: Connect the other end of the Negative(-) cable to a good solid SHINY, NON PAINTED metal part of the engine on the dead car (NSX).

When you're done, remove the cables in the reverse order that you connected them being careful not to let the battery cable clamps from touching each other.
