what a mind numbing experience. words, pictures and videos can't possibly describe the fun we had last week. everyone agreed that it was well worth the money.
the competition was very tough... lots of lambos (diablo, murcielago), ferraris (f40,550,360,355), and porsches (c4 cab, 996 cab,993 turbo,996 turbo, gt2). i had a tough time keeping up. a brabus sl55 broke the 200mph barrier a few times. except for the delorean and hummers, i think i had the slowest car. we maxed out the nsx just shy of 170mph and the other cars were pulling away... sickening speeds.

some of the crazy events caught on tape:
-some kids in a suburu trying to show off smacks into a wall at over 90mph
-the 360 modena loses control on an oval track and does a 360.. how appropriate
-f40 does 180mph on gravel road
-police escort to new orleans... not your average police escort
-9 cars busted together for wreckless driving (some hid in ditches and parking lots.. but were eventually caught)
-delorean is ticketed for doing 75mph in a 75mph zone (don't ask)
-hummer h2 with a chick driver produces one of the best track times
-jackass crew signs autographs for jail inmates and deputies while being booked
-one of the 550 maranellos crashes in the rain

the list goes on and on.
i can't wait til next year.

lots. many troopers were very cool. some were real pricks. a group of us got pulled over by 2 troopers... one wanted to let us all go but the other arrested all of us for wreckless driving. we were allowed to bail ourselves out so we didn't have to spend the night in jail. for $500 we got cool souvenirs... print outs of our mugshots and orange inmate shirts that say waltor county jail.

The hummer got pulled over on the dam for having a parade and haging out of the car to film every one.

The Ferrari guy was giving rides in the F40 around the track at full speed. To anyone who wanted one!

nicholas,

Thanks for the write up of your experience and the links. I went to the players run website and spent a while looking at the car pictures.

Sounds like you had an experience that you will not soon forget.

Thanks again!

we did most of the grueling "phoenix to san antonio" leg of the rally with a 996 turbo and a 550 maranello. we were cruising most of the way at 120-170mph. we got some great shots of them... but obviously none of the nsx.
