A good coworker is moving down to the Phoenix area. The house that they bought will need pretty much all new furniture. The move will occur next month, but they haven't had a whole lot of time to find places to shop yet. Most of their time spent down there was looking for a new house to buy. Any good places? Thanks in advance.

Holy cow, you're talking about one of the biggest shopping meccas in the Southwest when it comes to furniture.
Scottsdale has a whole bunch of high end furniture stores. There is a CostCo Home store in Tempe, and an Ikea about a mile from that.
Your co-worker will have no problems buying furniture!!!

It depends on what their style is. Do they like traditional, contemporary, southwestern? The Costco Home store is really nice, especially if they like more traditional styling. If they are into contemporary decor, IKEA is a nice and inexpensive store. Also for contemporary decor, Copenhagen is awesome. I personally do not know about any stores that have southwestern furniture since that is not my style.

Thanks Heather. I think it is mostly some leather couches and probably a nice formal set for their front room. You know, the kind for when guests come over and are so nice and uncomfortable looking that nobody will ever sit on them. haha I'll have them check out that CostCo Home Store. Do you know where it's at? I'm not sure where their new house is exactly. I know it's in a nicer suburb of Phoenix though.

I just moved into a house with electrical hookup, and therefore the 3 year old gas GE (or is it whirlpool?) dryer is sitting in the garage, waiting for me to get off my behind to sell it. Think they'll have an interest? It's full size, white, excellent working condition. $100 ($390 new from Best Buy)

They are more interested in couches and stuff because what they have now doesn't go with the new house. They are going to be checking out places this week when they go down there again. They close on the 15th of March. I just remembered that their new house is in Goodyear. I can't believe I didn't remember that name! haha
